The project is built in the context of digital transformation becoming an inevitable trend, playing an important role in the process of modernizing national sports. The goal of the project is to form a digital sports ecosystem, in which data, technology and users are closely connected, creating a foundation for managing, organizing and developing sports in a scientific , effective and sustainable manner.

Key tasks include: building a national sports database; deploying an online training and competition management platform; developing applications to serve the management of athletes, coaches, and referees; promoting propaganda and dissemination of sports knowledge through the digital environment.

The project also aims to apply artificial intelligence (AI), big data and the Internet of Things (IoT) in training, fitness assessment, performance prediction and injury prevention. In addition, the construction of a digital sports map and an online sports facilities system will contribute to information transparency, helping people easily access and register to participate in sports activities in the community.

Within the framework of the Project, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism aims to develop digital platforms and smart mobile applications, capable of synchronous connection with measuring devices and sensors (IoT) to comprehensively monitor physical, biological and performance indicators of athletes, and at the same time, provide early warning of injury risks during training and competition. This system will integrate data from sports medicine, nutrition and rehabilitation, thereby supporting consultation and adjusting training and competition plans in a personalized manner, suitable for the physiological characteristics and physical condition of each athlete. In addition, the Ministry will also build a comprehensive management toolkit for training, competition and rehabilitation, allowing for increased interaction between athletes, coaches and experts, contributing to improving training efficiency, ensuring safety and optimizing sports performance.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism aims to build a synchronous digital infrastructure for the entire sports industry, focusing on deploying a digital reporting - statistics - management system, connecting real-time data from central to local levels to serve management, monitoring and decision-making based on actual data. At the same time, the Ministry will develop software to manage and train athletes, integrating health data, achievements, and lesson plans to personalize the training process; operate a licensing system and monitor tournament organization to ensure transparency and compliance with regulations.

Along with that, focus on developing online public services, building applications to support people in exercising, connecting training facilities, disseminating knowledge and encouraging community physical training. In the field of education, the Project aims to apply digital technology in school physical education, build a system to monitor student physical fitness, a digital content library and visual teaching support tools.

In addition, the Project also promotes the development of electronic sports (E-sports) associated with physical and mental training, while expanding platforms for organizing and commercializing digital sports events, allowing broadcasting, livestreaming tournaments and digitizing audience experiences, creating a new step in modernizing the sports industry.

The implementation of the Project "Digital transformation in the field of sports" is expected to open up a new development step for Vietnamese sports, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management, modernizing training and competition organization, and at the same time promoting the mass sports movement to develop widely, meeting the requirements of the national digital transformation period.
