Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway Project: Launching a 90-day and night campaign to clear the land

On the afternoon of October 8, at Nghia Trung commune, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province held a conference to launch a 90-day and night plan to carry out compensation and site clearance for the North-South expressway project, the western section of Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh.

The Western section of the North-South Expressway project, specifically the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh segment, has a total length of 128.8km. Of this, the section passing through the northern part of Dong Nai province, approximately 101km long, is designed with 6 lanes and a speed limit of 120km/h, with a total investment of approximately 25,540 billion VND. According to the plan, land compensation and clearance will be completed by the end of 2025. Upon completion, the expressway will become a vital transportation artery connecting the Central Highlands with the Southeast region.

The launch ceremony for the 90-day plan, dubbed "Quang Trung Campaign," aims to accelerate land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement for residents in the project area, while also demonstrating Dong Nai province's strong political determination to expedite the progress of the transportation infrastructure project. The Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee also requested that departments and localities intensify propaganda and mobilization efforts to ensure residents understand the significance of the project, going door-to-door to understand the concerns and aspirations of each household, and promptly and decisively resolving legitimate requests.

Rewarding households that hand over land early.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha instructed the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to direct its branches in Dong Xoai, Dong Phu, Bu Dang, and Chon Thanh to closely coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and wards, and the Project Management Board... to expedite procedures and ensure transparency and openness in compensation and support for the people; the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board needs to urgently coordinate with relevant units to ensure funding for compensation and organize campaign activities, and be ready with human and material resources to start construction as soon as the land is cleared.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province also commended households that agreed to and handed over land early for the project implementation, and the branches of the Dong Nai Provincial Land Fund Development Center, including Dong Xoai, Dong Phu, Bu Dang, Chon Thanh, and 10 communes and wards through which the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway project passes, signed commitments and pledged to achieve the goal of land clearance by 2025.
