On January 20, at the Youth Cultural House (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), the "Spring Bus" departed to take 2,000 students and disadvantaged workers home to celebrate Tet.
The program of sending disadvantaged students home to celebrate Tet with the "Spring Bus" was organized by the City Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center, Thanh Nien Newspaper in collaboration with donors. This program is part of a series of activities to care for Tet for disadvantaged students studying at schools in the city.
Students eagerly return home to celebrate Tet by "Spring bus"
According to the program's organizers, this year's "Spring Bus Trip" brought 2,000 students and disadvantaged workers to provinces in the Central and Central Highlands regions. Participating in the program, each student also received a Tet gift worth 700,000 VND.
Mr. Le Nguyen Nam, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center, shared: "This year's "Spring Bus" carries a message of love, reminding young people of love for their homeland and family, spreading traditional values about the wish for reunion and happiness of every Vietnamese family during the Lunar New Year. In addition to "Spring Bus", the center also coordinates to organize programs to introduce 4,000 Tet jobs, the Spring program from millions of golden hearts to give 2,000 Tet gifts to students and visit, give gifts, and encourage students to stay in dormitories".
2,000 students and workers in difficult circumstances lined up to get on buses to go home for Tet.
It is known that "Spring Bus Trip" is a program initiated and implemented annually by the City Student Support Center since 2002. Up to now, 63,125 students and disadvantaged workers have been supported to return home to celebrate Tet. The program has become a good solution, carrying many humane values, recognized by society and spread to many localities, agencies, units and schools.
From this program, many models to support students, university students, and workers in difficult circumstances to return home for Tet have been implemented.
