Responding to VTC News, the VPF leader confirmed that the agency requested the Ho Chi Minh City Club to report on its financial resources and partners. This action was taken to ensure that the promotion, advertising, and payment of benefits to the club's sponsors in the V-League is legal and complies with the regulations of the organizing committee and the Vietnam Football Federation.
On the afternoon of October 12, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) received an explanation from Ho Chi Minh City Club regarding the team's new sponsor. The team provided information clarifying the cooperation relationship between the two parties, the legal entity and the sponsor's main business areas in Vietnam.
Up to this point, the above enterprise has been identified as registered to do business in the field of food, beverage and sports entertainment with a number of bars, lounges and restaurants.
Ho Chi Minh City Club has a new sponsor.
Before the 2023/2024 season kicked off, Ho Chi Minh City FC received a large sponsorship package from a business belonging to an international corporation with many business fields. The promotional image of this sponsor on the Ho Chi Minh City FC jersey is identical to the logos of some sports betting sites - a form of entertainment considered legal in some countries but not yet recognized by Vietnam.
The large sponsorship contract could help Ho Chi Minh City overcome the financial storm that has caused them many difficulties in the past 2 years. Coach Vu Tien Thanh quickly secured the services of a number of quality players such as goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang (who played in the second phase of last season on loan from the Hanoi Police Club), central defender Nguyen Minh Tung, and foreign duo Paul-George Ntep and Cheik Timite.
According to VTC News, the above mentioned enterprise has likely reached an agreement to sponsor the second football team in V-League after Ho Chi Minh City Club.
