Today (May 29) is the trading day without the right to receive dividends for HDB shares of HDBank Joint Stock Commercial Bank. This bank has announced the closing of the list of shareholders entitled to receive a 10% cash dividend on May 30. Shareholders whose names are on the list on the last registration day will receive VND1,000/share. With more than 2.5 billion shares in circulation, HDBank will spend more than VND2,500 billion to pay dividends to shareholders.

Next, An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (stock code ABB) also closed the shareholder list on May 31 (ex-dividend date is May 20) to pay 2022 dividends in shares at a rate of 10%. Equivalent to shareholders owning 10 new shares will receive 1 share.

Another bank, Asia Commercial Bank ( ACB ), announced that June 2 is the last registration date to exercise the right to pay 2022 dividends in cash and shares to shareholders. Accordingly, the bank will pay cash dividends at a rate of 10%, meaning that each share will receive 1,000 VND. It is estimated that with nearly 3.38 billion shares in circulation, ACB will have to spend more than 3,377 billion VND to pay dividends to shareholders. In addition, the bank also plans to issue more than 506 million shares to pay 2022 dividends with an exercise rate of 15%, meaning that shareholders owning 100 shares will receive 15 new shares.

In addition to the banks that have announced the dividend payment date, many banks have also made plans to prepare for implementation. For example, most recently, the State Bank has issued a document approving Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (stock code TPB) to increase its charter capital by a maximum of VND 6,198 billion in the form of issuing common shares to increase equity capital from equity capital. This is the plan approved by TPBank's 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. Accordingly, TPB will issue nearly 620 million shares to existing shareholders at a rate of 39.19% in shares from undistributed retained earnings. These additional shares will not be subject to transfer restrictions.

Or Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (stock code VPB) also plans to pay a 10% cash dividend, equivalent to about VND 7,934 billion. If approved by the State Bank, this will be the first time VPBank has paid a mass cash dividend to shareholders since its listing in 2017. Previously, VPBank had only paid cash dividends for more than 73 million preferred shares in 2018 at a rate of 20%...
