What's good about cheap MacBook?
Speaking of the low-cost MacBook version, analyst Ming-chi Kuo said this will be the lowest-priced MacBook model in Apple's laptop lineup, expected to launch as a basic model and below the MacBook Air.
According to previous reports, this low-cost MacBook will be equipped with an iPhone chip (A-series processor), which could blur the line between iPad and MacBook. Mr. Kuo added that the MacBook with A-series chip will start mass production in the fourth quarter of this year and will not support touch. This model may be equipped with the A18 Pro processor like the chip on the iPhone 16 Pro models, while the screen size is about 12.9 inches.
Apple MacBook Pro 16 and 14-inch M3 Series Review
With the combination of a low-cost MacBook and a touch-enabled OLED MacBook Pro, Apple's next generation of computers promises to attract the attention of both creative professionals and budget-conscious users.
One thing to note is that the A18 Pro chip doesn’t support Thunderbolt, so the new MacBook may only have a regular USB-C port, but that may not be a big deal for customers looking for a budget Mac.
