Bank stocks break out, VN-Index escapes danger at the end of the session

The trading session on September 23 saw the stock market fluctuate, with liquidity dropping sharply. The VN-Index was under selling pressure for most of the trading session, but still managed to turn the tide and regain green thanks to bottom-fishing demand from large-cap stocks, especially banks. At the end of the session, the VN-Index increased by 0.81 points to 1,635.26 points.

Market liquidity decreased compared to yesterday's session, with total trading volume on the three floors reaching more than 877 million shares, equivalent to a total trading value of more than VND24,460 billion.

Foreign investors sold strongly for the 11th consecutive session on all 3 floors, more than 98 billion VND, focusing on codesFPT (572.43 billion VND), MSN (81.92 billion VND), KDH (46.22 billion VND), GEX (35.71 billion VND), VRE (30.9 billion VND)...

In the opposite direction, the codes that were net bought a lot in this session included VIX (249.68 billion VND),SHB (134.99 billion VND), MWG (98.97 billion VND), VPB (76.7 billion VND), TPB (74.35 billion VND)...

On the HoSE floor, the matched order value this session decreased compared to the previous session, reaching more than 18,591 billion VND.

In this session, the codes that contributed positively to the VN-Index increasing by more than 4.45 points included: CTG, VPB, MWG, HPG, VCB, MBB, VIC, VIX, STB, HVN.

On the contrary, the codes that negatively impacted the VN-Index by more than 3.7 points included: VHM, FPT, GEX, SHB, VJC, VRE, BID, HDB, BCM, GEE.

In terms of industry groups, this session, software stocks had a negative performance, down 1.58%, mainly from FPT, ELC, ITD, CMT... Some codes increased including CMG, HPT...

The group of securities stocks this session leaned towards green, with an increase of 0.58%, mainly from codes SSI, VIX, VND, VCI, SHS, HCM, FTS, DSE, CTS, ORS... On the contrary, a few codes decreased including MBS, FUEVFVND, BSI, E1VFVN30, VDS, DSC...

Real estate stocks this session were in the red and decreased by 0.19%, mainly from codes VHM, BCM, VRE, KDH, KBC, KSF, PDR, SJS, DIG, NLG... On the contrary, the codes increased including VIC, SSH, NVL, DXG, VPI, TCH, TAL, VCR, DXS...

Energy stocks this session were mostly green, up 0.28%, mainly from codes BSR, PVD, PVT, TMB, PVB, TVD, PPT... Declining codes included PLX, MVB, VTO, PVC, VIP, CLM, CST, COM, TD6...

* The Vietnamese stock market index closed today with red dominating, VNXALL-Index closed down 0.18 points (-0.01%), to 2,808.77 points. Liquidity with trading volume of more than 819.23 million units, equivalent to trading value of more than VND 23,881.99 billion. In the whole market, there were 169 codes increasing in price, 106 codes remaining unchanged and 181 codes decreasing in price.

* At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 273.01 points, down 1.22 points (-0.44%). Liquidity reached a total of more than 69.19 million shares transferred, with a corresponding trading value of more than VND 1,448.2 billion. In the whole market, there were 56 stocks increasing in price, 81 stocks remaining unchanged and 80 stocks decreasing in price.

The HNX30 index closed down 2.14 points (-0.36%) to 590.83 points. Trading volume reached over 43.15 million units, equivalent to over VND1,122.06 billion. In the whole market, there were 8 stocks increasing in price, 5 stocks remaining unchanged and 17 stocks decreasing in price.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 110.02 points, down 0.13 points (-0.12%). Market liquidity, total trading volume reached over 26.93 million shares, corresponding trading value reached over 402.26 billion VND. In the whole market, there were 138 stocks increasing in price, 81 stocks remaining unchanged and 120 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed up 0.81 points (+0.05%) to 1,635.26 points. Liquidity reached over 797.23 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND23,232.77 billion. The entire floor had 157 stocks increasing, 64 stocks remaining unchanged and 153 stocks decreasing.

The VN30 Index increased by 1.85 points (+0.10%) and stopped at 1,821.45 points. Liquidity reached more than 409.33 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 13,336.49 billion. The VN30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 15 stocks increasing, 4 stocks remaining unchanged and 11 stocks decreasing.
