Recently, social networks have seen many chats and videos recording cases of students and groups of students acting like thugs, beating teachers to the point of having to be hospitalized or insulting and humiliating teachers, causing public outrage.
Most recently, a video recorded the incident in which a group of 7C students from Van Phu Secondary School, Son Duong District, Tuyen Quang Province cornered a female teacher in the corner of the classroom, threatened her with curses, and insulted her. The teacher was even hit with a sandal by the students, but she did not dare to resist and instead used her phone to record the incident. Regardless of the cause, the incident is a serious violation of ethics for teachers.
Immediately afterwards, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) issued a document requesting the Tuyen Quang Department of Education and Training to clearly report the incident, draw lessons from it, and focus on strengthening teacher management and evaluation; building a team of teachers; strengthening school discipline, and building school culture. The MOET also requested that schools educate students on ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; closely coordinate with families and relevant agencies and organizations in managing and educating students, and prevent similar incidents from occurring.
In Ninh Binh, in recent years, moral and lifestyle education for students has received attention from all levels, sectors and the whole society. Schools have identified this as an important and long-term task, contributing to shaping and promoting the necessary and good qualities of human personality for each student right from when they are still in school. This activity needs to be carried out regularly, continuously and throughout the family, school and community and society. In particular, moral education is closely linked to political and ideological education, legal education, intellectual education, physical education, aesthetics and vocational education.
According to the General Education Program issued under Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT dated December 26, 2018 of the Ministry of Education and Training, the content and requirements to achieve the main qualities of students at both primary, secondary and high school levels are reflected in the output results including 5 qualities: Patriotism, compassion, diligence, honesty and responsibility. In addition, the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress determined: "Building, developing, creating the most favorable environment and social conditions to arouse the tradition of patriotism, national pride, belief, aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country; the talent, intelligence, and qualities of the Vietnamese people are the center, the most important goal and driving force for the country's development".
Following the above viewpoint, schools have launched and effectively implemented campaigns and emulation movements launched by the education sector; emulation movements of the Youth Union, Association, and Pioneer organizations to celebrate major holidays and important political events of the nation and country are regularly organized. Such as actively implementing the Project "Strengthening management and political and ideological education for students in the online environment until 2025" of the Minister of Education and Training. Strengthening educational activities, guiding how to use and exploit information on the Internet for young people in schools. At the same time, proactively detecting and coordinating with the police and local authorities to handle complicated ideological issues related to students.
The Department of Education and Training has stepped up urging and guiding schools to continue building and maintaining columns to propagate and educate morality, lifestyle, love for homeland and country, and Ho Chi Minh's moral example for youth.
Actively propagate, disseminate, educate the law, propagate cultural, artistic, and sports activities for youth and children on major holidays of the year. Coordinate with the Provincial Police to deploy professional measures, grasp the developments and activities of criminal subjects, especially those of young age. Create records of students and adolescents who are bad and slow to progress and frequently violate the law but do not have enough grounds to prosecute criminal responsibility and send them to reformatory and educational facilities in communes, wards, and towns...
The Education sector has also promoted communication, commendation and honoring of exemplary students in studying and training, noble actions, good people and good deeds in schools. 100% of general education and vocational education institutions have organized political activities and campaigns to promote the cultural heritage of the province and the nation... Through the implementation of the movement, it has contributed to enhancing the role, responsibility and awareness of each cadre, teacher and student about the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the nation.
Every year, Ninh Binh province has many students winning excellent student awards, national and international science and technology awards; awards in the Youth and Children's Creativity Competition at all levels; winning gold, silver and bronze medals at the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the provincial and national levels; competitions, contests, exchanges and intellectual playgrounds at home and abroad...
In the current context, in addition to the content and requirements to achieve the qualities according to the 2018 General Education Program, based on the conditions, actual situation, characteristics of educational activities organized in each school, the characteristics of each subject, schools and each teacher need to effectively implement the goal of "Teaching letters goes hand in hand with teaching people", by researching, updating, integrating, and interweaving the content of moral education, lifestyle and aspirations for dedication for students, helping them build dreams, ambitions, bring their talents and personal strength to contribute to society, making society better and better, people more and more perfect.
