The profession of raising spotted deer for velvet antlers in Tan Son commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An has existed for many years.

However, local people mainly raise them on a small scale and in small numbers. Sika deer are mainly raised to develop the household economy .

Mr. Nguyen Van Hien (born in 1978, residing in Tan Son commune) is another "special" case. In 2023, Mr. Hien boldly invested billions of dong to build barns, buy breeding animals, and raise sika deer on a large scale.

Currently, Mr. Hien is raising more than 100 sika deer. Of these, 30 sika deer have produced antlers, the rest are breeding deer and breeding deer.
