Son La police successfully rescued 6 people trapped in the middle of a flood

Six people in Quyet Thang village, Chieng Khuong commune, Son La province, who were trapped due to the historic flood in Chieng Khuong commune, were successfully rescued to safety by Son La Provincial Police.

Fire prevention, firefighting and rescue police successfully deployed a rescue plan for 6 people trapped in the midst of raging floodwaters.

Colonel Nguyen Khac Ngoc, Head of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Son La Provincial Police, quickly informed: Under the direction of the Board of Directors of Son La Provincial Police, on August 1, the unit quickly mobilized nearly 100 officers, soldiers and vehicles to Chieng Khuong, Song Ma, Chieng So communes and Muong Lam commune to carry out rescue work for households affected by rising floodwaters on the Ma River, causing flooding.

Due to rising flood waters, the location where the 6 people were trapped was about 300m from the shore, the flooded area was fast flowing, making it very difficult to access.

Many families and residents were promptly assisted by Son La police to safety.

With the efforts of officers and soldiers, they used ropes, buoys, and life jackets to deploy the rescue team, swimming 300m in the midst of the raging flood to reach the people.

After more than an hour in the flood, Son La Provincial Police successfully rescued 6 people who were trapped for many hours in the flood area, and also moved the property of 25 households to safety.
