The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has just announced a list of 15 major problems in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of the industry, aiming to solve current issues of concern related to water and air pollution; natural disaster prevention and control; livestock farming, traceability, etc.
Accordingly, the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment assigned the Department of Environment to preside over coordination and support Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to research, mobilize resources, proactively approach and solve two major environmental problems.
The focus is on modernizing and comprehensively digitalizing the national air quality management system (including monitoring, assessment, warning and forecasting of pollution based on digital twin platforms, etc.); applying breakthrough science and technology in building and exploiting the basic environmental monitoring database to serve environmental management and sustainable socio -economic development.
The Department of Water Resources Management presides over and supports businesses in researching and implementing a program to restore degraded, depleted, and polluted water resources in large, nationally important river basins for the 2026-2030 period.
The Department of Hydrometeorology takes the lead in coordinating and supporting businesses in solving the problem of mastering strategic technologies (such as AI, Big data, IoT) in monitoring, supervising, transmitting information, forecasting, and warning of hydrometeorological disasters to serve disaster prevention and sustainable socio-economic development.
The Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control presides over and supports solving the problem of improving the ability to prevent and combat flash floods and landslides.

The Department of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information of Vietnam presides over and coordinates with enterprises to research, develop and master strategic technologies (such as artificial intelligence, digital copies) in the field of surveying and mapping, serving the construction, development and exploitation of national geospatial data infrastructure.
The National Remote Sensing Department presides over and coordinates with businesses to research the application of remote sensing and artificial intelligence in building automatic monitoring, surveillance, and warning systems in the fields of agriculture and environment.
The Department of Forestry and Forest Protection presides over and coordinates with businesses to research to improve productivity, quality, sustainable forest management, increase carbon stocks and added value of forests, develop wood products and non-timber forest products along the value chain using strategic technology and digital transformation.
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine presides over and coordinates with businesses to research and develop a livestock declaration system and traceability system (including breeds, feed, barn technology, farming processes; input, output to slaughterhouse and supermarket).
The Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance presides over, coordinates, and supports businesses in researching and developing digital platforms and smart virtual assistants to serve sustainable fisheries management and electronic traceability of aquatic product origins.
Vietnam Academy of Agriculture presides over and coordinates with enterprises to research and develop sorghum material areas for biofuel production; train and develop high-quality human resources in the agricultural and environmental sectors to meet the context of digital transformation and international integration.
The Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change presides over, coordinates, and provides information support to technology enterprises to build a system to monitor and evaluate the impact of climate change and adaptation efficiency in the fields of agriculture and environment on the basis of big data and AI technology.
The Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands is in charge of supporting businesses in researching, mobilizing resources, solving the problem of sustainable exploitation of resources, protecting ecosystems and marine environment; and making breakthroughs in deep-sea investigation and research./.
