Applying a new philosophical model

Recently, Ajinomoto Group announced a new philosophy model, with 3 contents: "Purpose of existence", "Ajinomoto Group's activities to create common value" and "Ajinomoto Group's way".
Mr. Tsutomu Nara, General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam Company, shares the company's new philosophy model.
According to Mr. Tsutomu Nara, General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam Company, from the new philosophical model of the parent group, along with a deep understanding of the cultural and social characteristics during 32 years of operation in the Vietnamese market, Ajinomoto Vietnam has established its own philosophical model, emphasizing the "Purpose of existence" is "Contributing to bringing health and happiness to the people and society of Vietnam through providing quality products and valuable initiatives".
Manufacture and supply quality products
To realize the above purpose of existence, Ajinomoto Vietnam focuses on two main directions, which are providing quality products and valuable initiatives.
Accordingly, the company continues to develop and provide quality, easy-to-prepare products at reasonable prices, along with products that meet the needs of mental health and nutritional functions. At the same time, it brings valuable initiatives in the fields of nutrition, health and the environment.
During 32 years of operation in Vietnam, Ajinomoto Vietnam has continuously researched and developed to bring consumers quality and diverse products.

From the first product, AJI-NO-MOTO MSG - the only Japanese MSG brand in Vietnam. Currently, Ajinomoto Vietnam is expanding its production and business fields, not only providing food products, spices... ensuring food hygiene and safety, delicious, easy to process at reasonable prices, but also bringing consumers products with added value, meeting the needs of physical and mental health, as well as nutritional functions.
Other quality products of the Company include Aji-ngon Pork Seasoning and Aji-Quick Ready-to-Serve Seasoning, helping to bring delicious, nutritious and convenient daily meals to Vietnamese families.
Products that meet the needs of mental health as well as nutritional functions such as Aji-mayo Mayonnaise; Blendy powdered instant drink; Vtox rice vinegar drink or nutritional supplements such as Ajinomoto ready-to-mix donut powder.
Many valuable initiatives
Along with maintaining and developing quality products, many valuable initiatives have been promoted by Ajinomoto Vietnam to contribute to improving nutrition, health and environmental conditions for the community such as: School Meals Project, Maternal and Child Nutrition Program, Vietnam Nutrition System Development Project (VINEP).
With the School Meal Project, Ajinomoto Vietnam Company has coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Training, the National Institute of Nutrition ( Ministry of Health ) to implement and deploy at boarding primary schools nationwide since 2017, including the following contents: "Software to build a balanced nutritional menu", the nutrition education program "Three minutes to change awareness" and "Model boarding kitchen" according to Japanese standards.
More than 1.4 million students have benefited from the School Meals Project
To date, the Project has been implemented in more than 4,200 primary boarding schools in provinces and cities nationwide, providing nutritionally balanced meals andeducating students about food nutrition.
In December 2020, Ajinomoto Vietnam Company cooperated with the Department of Maternal and Child Health and the National Institute of Nutrition to implement the "National Maternal and Child Nutrition Program", through the software "Building a balanced nutritional menu for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children from 7 months to 60 months old", with the goal of contributing to the nutritional care and health of pregnant women and children, thereby improving the nutritional status and health of mothers and children in Vietnam.
The software provides a nutritionally balanced menu bank for mothers and children under 5 years old, with more than 2,500 dishes researched and developed for each stage, from the beginning of pregnancy to after birth for mothers, and from newborn to under 60 months old for children. The software also provides tools for monitoring and taking care of the health of mothers and children, along with a huge knowledge base on nutrition, health and cuisine compiled by experts.
Maternal and Child Nutrition Program co-organized by Ajinomoto Group
In 2011, Ajinomoto Group and Ajinomoto Vietnam Company researched and cooperated with the National Institute of Nutrition to initiate the "Vietnam Nutrition System Development Project (VINEP)". The project supports the establishment of Bachelor of Nutrition training programs at major medical universities nationwide, with the aim of training nutrition experts to work in medical and health agencies and organizations; building a nutrition system to provide long-term solutions to develop nutrition and health for Vietnamese people. The project also provides professional support in building a system of regulations related to nutrition, the first step of which is the Joint Circular stipulating codes and standards for nutrition professional titles issued by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2015.
Initiatives to improve environmental conditions
Sharing about environmental protection initiatives, Mr. Tatsuya Nakayama, Director in charge of Production Division 2, Ajinomoto Vietnam Company, said that the company aims to achieve Zero Plastic Waste by 2030. The company is planning to use 100% recyclable materials for product packaging and will place recycling symbols on the packaging to make customers aware that the packaging is recyclable. At the same time, it will conserve water resources by applying stricter wastewater treatment standards than those required by Vietnam.
In the future, the company will put into use a biomass cogeneration system, which will generate nearly 50% of the electricity used at the Bien Hoa Factory expected from 2024. From there, it is possible to reduce more than 50% of CO2 from the production process and realize the goal of reducing 50% of CO2 by 2030 of the Ajinomoto Group.
