Planning announcement: Binh Duong will be a centrally-governed city

On September 26, in Binh Duong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the decision approving the planning of Binh Duong province for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

According to the approved plan, by 2030 Binh Duong strives to become a centrally-governed city, one of the dynamic and comprehensive industrial and service development centers of the region.

At the event, the Prime Minister witnessed the signing of many cooperation agreements.

Becamex IDC Corporation (under the People's Committee of Binh Duong province) and the Korea Office of Smart Manufacturing (KOSMO) signed a cooperation agreement to exchange internationally, coordinate and promote smart manufacturing, industry, and cooperate to promote ODA projects.

Binh Duong cooperates with COEX Group (Korea) to promote industrial trade and investment.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of the government, businesses and people of Binh Duong province for their proud achievements, being honored by the international community for many consecutive years as a city with a typical smart city development strategy.

The Prime Minister requested Binh Duong to closely follow the approved planning and have an implementation plan, promoting resources not only from the State but also mobilizing social resources.

Continue to promote Binh Duong's experience and strengths of "central government paving the way, locality creating, enterprises accompanying, people participating".

Major investment projects in Binh Duong

In terms of foreign direct investment (FDI) alone, in the first 9 months of 2024, Binh Duong attracted more than 1.2 billion USD.

Up to now, Binh Duong ranks 3rd in the country in attracting FDI capital with more than 4,300 valid projects, with a total registered capital of more than 41 billion USD, accounting for 8.5% of the country.

At the planning announcement ceremony, Binh Duong granted approval in principle and investment certificates to 8 typical domestic and foreign projects licensed in 2024.

Projects that were granted investment approval decisions at the ceremony include: Bac An Tay urban area project with a total investment of more than 451 million USD, Dong An Tay urban area project with a total investment of 550 million USD, Saigon Riverside apartment complex with trade and services with a total investment of more than 141 million USD, ICD - Rach Bap dry port with a total investment of more than 57 million USD.

Projects granted investment registration certificates include: a 120 million USD project to produce aluminum, steel and metals by D.MAG VN Precision Technology Company; a 400 million USD additional capital project to produce fabric by Paihong VN Company Limited. A 51.5 million USD project in the field of warehouses and factory rental by investor Sembcorp Infra Services. A 38 million USD project to produce bicycle accessories by investor Tektro Technology Corporation.
