Also visiting and sharing with Ms. Yen's family were Mr. Pham Quang Thanh - Chairman of Hanoi City Labor Federation and representatives of the leaders and Trade Union of Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited.
Ms. Yen is a street sweeper at Dong Da Branch, Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited. She had a work accident on April 21. Although she was taken to the hospital by her colleagues and local residents, she did not survive due to severe injuries.
Yen’s family situation is extremely difficult. Her husband used to be a driver for the Hanoi Bus Company, but due to poor health, he quit his job 2 years ago and now just stays at home. She and her husband have a son born in 2007, currently in 12th grade.
Ms. Yen is the main breadwinner, all living expenses of the whole family and tuition for her children depend on her income. Now that she is gone, besides the irreparable pain, the family is facing countless difficulties.

To encourage and contribute to helping Ms. Yen's husband and children overcome the loss and immediate difficulties, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu presented 5 million VND and a gift bag from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The leaders of the City Confederation of Labor presented 3 million VND and a gift bag. Previously, the Hanoi Confederation of Labor had provided emergency support to Ms. Yen's family of 10 million VND.
Sharing condolences and encouraging Yen’s husband and children, especially Ngo Xuong Bach - the son of Tuan Anh and Yen, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu hopes that Bach will turn difficulties and hardships into motivation to rise up. “Being good and studying well is the best way to repay gratitude. In fact, there are many people who have succeeded from difficulties and hardships,” Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu encouraged.
According to the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Workers' Month, the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health, takes place with the message that the whole society joins hands to care for workers. In the wake of Ms. Yen's passing, the Trade Unions at all levels and especially the company have provided practical support, including awarding scholarships to Ms. Yen's son.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu also expressed his desire to promote education on traffic law compliance as well as measures to protect workers in special occupations such as environmental workers.
