YouTube tightens censorship of poor quality AI content

YouTube will update its monetization policies on July 15, 2025, to prevent “mass-produced” and “repetitive” videos — especially content created with AI technology that lacks creativity or real-world value.

Specifically, “inauthentic” content will be removed from the YouTube Partner Program. AI-dubbed videos on still images, AI music, or fake news are considered “AI slop” - a term for “spam” generated by AI.

Some AI channels have attracted millions of views, but YouTube believes this could damage the platform's reputation.

Some creators are concerned that reaction videos and compilations will be affected, but YouTube insists this is just a minor update to clarify its existing policy: Creators must make “authentic” and “unique” content, not “mass-produced” videos just to get views.

OpenAI is about to launch its first “open” language model

OpenAI is about to release an open-weighted language AI model — meaning the training parameters will be public, allowing companies and governments to run their own without relying entirely on OpenAI or Microsoft.

The new model is expected to be similar to the “o3 mini,” capable of powerful inference, and deployed on multiple platforms such as Azure, Hugging Face, and other cloud providers. This is the first time OpenAI has released a model openly since GPT-2 in 2019. The model is being tested with developers and researchers, and OpenAI is actively soliciting feedback from the AI community.

The move comes as OpenAI and Microsoft renegotiate their contract, allowing OpenAI to restructure as a for-profit company.

Robotic surgery with 100% accuracy

A robot at Johns Hopkins University (USA) has just made a miracle when performing a completely independent gallbladder surgery, with 100% accuracy. This is considered a breakthrough in bringing robots into real surgery.

The robot is not controlled by humans during surgery, but operates based on training from videos of real surgeries. It memorizes and analyzes a series of operations by a specialist, thereby reproducing the surgical process with incredible precision.

What is special is that robots can still effectively handle unexpected medical situations, like emergency cases in hospitals. This ability makes experts believe that robots can replace humans in taking on high-risk parts of medicine.

The long-term goal, according to the research team, is to use this technology to reduce the workload on surgeons while improving the safety and efficiency of surgeries.
