ChatGPT has generated $2 billion, earning $2.91 per install
ChatGPT's mobile app has hit an incredible milestone: total global revenue of $2 billion since its launch in May 2023. In 2025 alone, as of July, the app generated $1.35 billion, up 673% year-over-year.
On average, ChatGPT will generate around $193 million per month in 2025, far surpassing competitors like Grok, Claude, and Copilot. Notably, ChatGPT's revenue is 30 times the combined revenue of the three competitors.

The app’s business performance is also impressive. Each download brings in an average of $2.91 in revenue. In the US market, this figure is up to $10/download, accounting for 38% of the app’s total global revenue.
To date, the app has been downloaded 690 million times worldwide . Of which, India accounts for the highest proportion at 13.7%, followed by the US at 10.3%. In 2025 alone, the number of downloads will reach 318 million, 2.8 times higher than the previous year.
Competitors like Grok have only recently started rolling out mobile apps. Grok launched on iOS in January 2025 and Android in March 2025, so it cannot compete on scale and revenue.
Super small SSD memory card for handheld devices is popular
Mini SSDs are gaining attention in the tech world, especially with portable gaming devices. Developed by Biwin, the Mini SSD is super small (15 x 17 mm) but achieves read speeds of up to 3,700 MB/s thanks to its dual-lane PCIe 4.0 interface.
Mini SSD is designed like a SIM card, using LGA packaging technology to integrate NAND chip and SSD controller into a compact block. Users can easily remove and install without opening the device, making storage upgrade more convenient.

Two Chinese handheld gaming devices – the GPD Win 5 and OneXPlayer Super X – have announced support for Mini SSDs. Biwin says the cards will be available in capacities ranging from 500GB to 2TB, in line with gamers’ growing storage needs.
The advent of the Mini SSD reflects a clear trend: Games are getting bigger. According to TechSpot, the average game size increased by about 6.3GB per year from 2012 to 2023. Games that are heavy on graphics, sound, and multilingual support, like The Last of Us Part 1 or Cyberpunk 2077, can take up 100–150GB of space.
NASA plans to extend the life of the Swift telescope
NASA is working with two US companies - Cambrian Works (Virginia) and Katalyst Space Technologies (Arizona) - to study the possibility of raising the orbit of the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory. The goal is to extend the instrument's operating life and test technology for servicing satellites in space.
Swift Observatory has been operating since 2004, studying high-energy phenomena such as gamma rays and supernovae. However, due to increased solar activity, Swift's orbit is rapidly deteriorating, creating an urgent need for intervention.

NASA is funding each company $150,000 through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III program, to promote a solution that is faster and more cost-effective than replacing the Swift with a new device.
Additionally, NASA is working with Starfish Space (Washington) to use the Small Satellite Propulsion and Inspection (SSPICY) technology to analyze the possibility of raising Swift’s orbit. This project will not only extend Swift’s lifespan but also open up the potential for future inactive satellite inspection missions.
According to Ms. Nicky Fox, NASA's Science Mission Director, leveraging commercial technology to serve space science missions is a strategic step that can help the US lead in the field of space satellite services.
