Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Professor Dung said that 3D technology applied in medicine brings great and miraculous values to patients.

"As with a 3D knee surgery, the anatomical accuracy is 98% or more. When 3D is applied, the surgery is personalized, 'tailored' for each patient.

"If the surgery is based on the doctor's experience, the surgery for two different patients is almost the same. But if 3D is applied, for the same patient, the left and right knees have differences, calculated in millimeters," said Professor Dung.

In particular, 3D technology is applied in many fields, from cardiology, oncology, orthopedics...

3D technology is becoming increasingly essential when applied to create anatomical models of human body parts, along with surgical positioning devices to optimize surgical and treatment processes.

According to Professor Dung, the Congress to establish the Vietnam 3D Medical Technology Association marks an important step forward in applying advanced 3D technology to medical research, teaching and practice in Vietnam.

This is also the opening milestone for the journey to develop intuitive - precise - personalized medicine in Vietnam and bring Vietnamese healthcare closer to global healthcare trends.

The Association is the first professional organization in Vietnam that brings together scientists, doctors, engineers and businesses, opening up sustainable development opportunities for the 3D creative technology ecosystem in healthcare; opening up a revolution in medicine, from anatomical models, surgical simulation to the production of personalized medical devices...

In the period of 2025-2030, the Association will focus on activities such as: Organizing specialized training courses on 3D in medicine; building a network of international-scale medical 3D technology research and application centers; promoting public-private and international cooperation in research and development of 3D medical products...
