Redefining the market approach
In the exhibition space at the National Assembly Guest House (Da Nang city) on the morning of July 27, besides projects on agriculture , handicrafts and services, the digital technology product group is still the area that attracts the most attention from visitors, investors and technology experts.
Among these, the Skoolib project, a smart library management application founded by Mr. Ngo Tan Tien (Founder of BookShare), quickly attracted attention due to its high practicality and flexible scalability for many customer groups.

Mr. Tien started his business in 2018 with the Handy Library application, a personal document management software. However, it was only when he had the opportunity to work with schools, agencies, and monastery libraries in the international market that he discovered a big gap in digitizing and systematizing library data in many organizations.
"When I came into contact with some universities and research centers in Europe, I found out that they had difficulties in managing borrowing and returning, searching for information and synchronizing data between units. That's when I realized that I needed to develop a more flexible, smarter system that could both "read and understand" and organize meaningful data," Tien shared.
Since the beginning of 2023, the Skoolib project has been developed with outstanding features such as multi-library linkage to provide book information to users; optimize storage capacity; visualize loan-return management flow; allow evaluation and book recommendations according to international standards; classify by genre - location - language. The product is aimed at public libraries, schools, research institutes or organizations with specialized document repositories.

Also at SURF 2025, Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Joint Stock Company (AIAIVN), headquartered in Da Nang, introduced a series of GenAI solutions serving the tourism industry, integrated through an information kiosk system, a customer-guiding robot, and a multilingual chatbot platform.
Products developed by AIAIVN have been piloted at Da Nang Museum in the form of socialization and are on the roadmap to expand to other key tourist destinations of the city.
Ms. Ha Thi My Nhung, Customer Manager of AIAIVN said: "We build AI platforms not only to provide information but also to act as virtual assistants capable of chatting, guiding, introducing products, selling tickets and supporting on-site customer care in popular languages such as Vietnamese, English, Chinese, Japanese...
In the future, AI-integrated robot models will be deployed at stations, museums, and eco-zones, helping to enhance smart tourism experiences in Da Nang."

Smart urban technology launch pad
It is easy to see that at SURF 2025, many participating digital technology projects are not only at the idea stage, but have been strongly supported in the incubation and acceleration stages and gradually marketed through many official channels of the city.
The case of Skoolib is a typical example when this model was selected for the DVAS 2025 business acceleration group and received support from the Da Nang Business Incubator (DNES).
"We received support from perfecting our business model, standardizing our identity, connecting with technical advisors, and preparing a fundraising plan, which were not easy for startups like me to access before. What I value most is the open environment and supportive spirit of the startup ecosystem in Da Nang, where startups can try, make mistakes, and learn seriously," said Mr. Tien.

On the AIAIVN side, a business representative said the project has had a roadmap for developing AI solutions applied to smart tourism since its inception.
The proactive connection from the city government, through the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Investment Promotion Center... has helped the product have the opportunity to be tested at actual locations such as Da Nang Museum, airport and soon, key tourist areas.
"After the merger of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province, the opportunity to expand our services to Hoi An, My Son or other ecological experience routes will be even more open. We hope to accompany the city in the process of creating smart tourism infrastructure for new linked regions," Ms. Nhung shared.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Sinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, said that SURF 2025 has had a clear transformation with the participation of many technology enterprises, not only in Da Nang but also from other provinces and cities.
The city is committed to continuing to expand financial, technical and communication support programs for technology projects in the incubation and acceleration stages. In the smart city development strategy, startups will be important partners to deploy pilot models associated with local practical needs.
