According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, the industrial production index in July 2025 is estimated to increase by 20.15% over the same period last year; the cumulative increase in 7 months is 15.08%. This is an impressive increase in the context that many businesses are still facing difficulties due to high input costs and export demand has not yet recovered stably.
Notably, the processing and manufacturing industry, which has been identified as the main growth driver of the province, continued to maintain a strong growth rate, increasing by nearly 32% in the first 7 months of the year compared to the same period. Key products such as electronic equipment, electrical components, wooden furniture, mechanical products, etc. all recorded high output and value. Of which, 9/14 basic products achieved and exceeded the 9-month plan; 5/14 products did not meet the schedule.
The production index of the remaining industries also continued to grow, in which the mining output in July is estimated to increase by 1.57% over the same period, the accumulated output in the first 7 months is estimated to increase by 4.65% over the same period; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning in July increased by 3.76% over the same period, the accumulated output in the first 7 months is estimated to increase by 1.85% over the same period; the electricity output in the first 7 months is estimated to reach 22.45 billion kWh, up 1.9% over the same period; the management and treatment of waste and wastewater in July increased by 17.22% over the same period, the accumulated output in the first 7 months is estimated to increase by 7.88% over the same period.
With the target of GRDP in 2025 reaching over 14%, in the last months of the year, the province's economy has identified the industrial production sector as playing a key role. Accordingly, in the third quarter of 2025, the Provincial People's Committee set a target of 24.95% increase in added value of the industrial - construction sector, which is the main growth driver of the province. From there, the provincial departments, branches and sectors will focus on supporting the coal and electricity industries to maintain production as per the proposed scenario, ensuring the progress of starting construction of new projects in the coal industry, such as: Ha Rang mine expansion underground mining project; Coc Sau - Deo Nai mine cluster mining project; Tan Yen - Dong Trang Bach mine underground mining project; Nam Mau coal screening plant construction investment project.
In addition, departments and branches support investors to speed up progress, complete procedures, and soon implement green energy and high-tech renewable energy projects, typically: Wind power project of B.Grimm Power Company Limited; biomass power plant project and green economic investment model, circular economy, Carbon credit development proposed by Greenlink Da Nang Company and YNC Company, Korea.
The province will also implement solutions to attract potential investors to industrial parks and industrial clusters, especially investors in high technology, processing technology, manufacturing, and production lines, striving to attract at least 200 million USD in FDI capital in the third quarter of 2025. In particular, it will direct communes, wards, and special zones where industrial parks, industrial clusters, and industrial production projects are located to actively carry out site clearance work, ensuring clean land funds for investors to promote investment in completing technical infrastructure systems, especially in the areas of Song Khoai Industrial Park, Hai Ha Industrial Park, Nam and Bac Tien Phong Industrial Parks.
It is known that in the coming time, the province will also connect industrial enterprises in the province with the domestic market and export through sea and road logistics routes; support participation in fairs, trade promotion of the processing and manufacturing industry in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Japan, Korea..., support building brands for key industrial products of the province.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: The unit will coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors to advise the province to organize regular dialogues with industrial enterprises to grasp difficulties, promptly resolve and remove them. Effectively implement policies to attract non-budgetary investment, introduce clean land funds with synchronous infrastructure, convenient connections for investors in the field of industrial production.
With a clear breakthrough in the industry and close support from the government, Quang Ninh industry is growing strongly, not only in output but also in quality of development. If it continues to maintain its growth momentum, remove bottlenecks and expand international cooperation opportunities, Quang Ninh can completely become the leading green - smart industrial center of the region.
