From early morning, 74 union members, laborers, and workers working in factories and enterprises with difficult circumstances gathered at the headquarters of the Department of Transport (No. 10 Tran Hung Dao, Pleiku City) to get on the bus to return home for Tet.
These are all workers far from home who have not returned home to celebrate Tet with their families in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Hai Duong and Hanoi for many years.
In a state of excitement, Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1974) and his wife Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung arrived very early to catch the reunion bus.

Mr. Tuan confided: "For many years, my husband and I have worked at a company in Pleiku City and raised 3 children, the youngest of whom has kidney failure. Every month, the family has to go to Ho Chi Minh City to treat the child. During Tet, the family always hopes to return home to visit both sides of the family, but due to difficult circumstances, we have not dared to return."
"This year, work was closed early so the family boldly contacted the authorities to register for a bus ride back to their hometown in Hanoi. Luckily, the family was supported with a free bus ride home for Tet and received gifts from the authorities.
Not knowing what else to say, I would like to thank the authorities for organizing this meaningful program to help many workers have the opportunity to return home for Tet," said Mr. Tuan.

Understanding the difficult situation of Mr. Tuan and his wife, the Provincial Labor Federation and the Department of Transport gave them gifts from the program "Tet Sum Vay, Xuan Chia Chia" and supported their family to return to their hometown.
Similarly, Mr. Le Hai Duong and his wife, Ms. Tran Thi Trang, are working as workers taking care of a pepper farm in Chu Puh district, Gia Lai. On the occasion of Tet, Mr. Duong registered for the program to bring his wife and two children back to their hometown in Nghe An to celebrate Tet with relatives.
"Both husband and wife are workers, earning about 200,000 VND per day. Life is difficult so the couple is living in a temporary house. Many times they wanted to go home but the situation was so difficult that they just called to ask. After more than 5 years of working, this is the first time the family has returned home to celebrate Tet," said Mr. Duong.

Mr. Ha Anh Thai, Deputy Director and Chairman of the Trade Union of the Gia Lai Department of Transport, said: "This year, the trade union in the industry has called on individuals and organizations to join hands to contribute more than 100 million VND to organize 2 trips to transport workers in difficult circumstances back to their hometowns for Tet.
"Although we cannot help all difficult situations, through this program, the unit hopes to share and encourage workers to rise up in life to develop the economy. In the following years, we will make more efforts to support more workers to return home to celebrate Tet, reunite with family and relatives."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Vice President of Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation, said: "During Tet, everyone wants to return home to reunite with their families. However, many workers are still in difficult circumstances and cannot return home to celebrate Tet. Therefore, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinates to support workers to return home to celebrate Tet at the end of the year.
I hope this activity will continue to connect, maintain and operate more regularly so that workers have the opportunity to return home for Tet and welcome a new year with their families.
