Born into a poor Jrai family in Doch 1 village, Ia Ly commune ( Gia Lai province), their income depended on a sao of rice field and their parents' meager wages, so the childhood of the two brothers A Da and A Dinh (born in 2007) was associated with many hardships and deprivations. Understanding the difficult circumstances, Da and Dinh have constantly strived to study with the hope of escaping poverty and moving towards a brighter future.

In this rural area with many difficulties, most young people after dropping out of school often choose to work as factory workers in the southern provinces or stay home to work on the farm to earn an income to help their families. However, after graduating from high school, the twins volunteered to join the army, surprising and touching many people in the village.

Sharing about this decision, A Dinh said: “Since I was a child, I have cherished the dream of becoming a People's Police officer. The image of police officers in movies and in real life, with their majestic and courageous demeanor, always present at hot spots, has left a deep impression on me. Their bravery, intelligence, and courage when facing criminals further urged me to nurture my dream of wearing the uniform of the police force.”

A Dinh admitted that he is still young, his thinking is still shallow, and his actions are not yet mature. Joining the police force will be a valuable opportunity for him to practice his will, style, and discipline. "I hope to soon wear the military uniform to contribute to protecting the peace of the people," Dinh said.

For A Dinh, being trained in the strict disciplinary environment of the People's Public Security force is not only an honor, but also a valuable experience, contributing to creating a solid foundation, helping him to be more confident on his future career path.

Unlike his younger brother, A Da's volunteering to join the People's Public Security service was accompanied by feelings of regret and remorse. Da confided: "When I was in 12th grade, because I chose the wrong exam group, I could not register for the Public Security exam. That mistake made me worry forever, so I decided to join the army to pursue my dream."

For this Jrai boy, wearing the green military uniform is a great source of pride. “I will strive, train, not be afraid of difficulties, not be afraid of hardships so that I can stick with the People's Public Security force for a long time,” A Da expressed.

Behind the volunteering decision of the two brothers A Da and A Dinh was the enthusiastic encouragement of their father, Mr. Hyum (43 years old). Being a member of the security force at the grassroots level, he understands better than anyone the sacred meaning of joining the army.

“As an adult citizen, you must first fulfill your duty to the Fatherland, and only after completing it will you consider taking care of yourself and your family. From now on, both of your children will be away from home, without support, but I am still healthy and can take care of myself. I only hope that my children will cultivate, train, strictly follow the discipline of the unit and complete their assigned tasks well,” Mr. Hyum confided.

According to Mr. Ro Cham Tam, Vice Chairman of Ia Ly Commune People's Committee, A Da and A Dinh's family circumstances are difficult, their house is about 20km from the school but both of them still tried hard to study and graduated from high school. What moved the local government and people was that the two decided to attach their youth to their duty to the country.

“Usually, after finishing school, young people here either go to work in a company or stay home to farm. In the past, in Ia Kreng commune, volunteering to join the army like A Da and A Dinh was very rare. This is a commendable action that needs to be replicated and spread to encourage and boost the spirit of young people in the commune to follow,” Mr. Tam shared.

After volunteering to join the army, Nong Thi Lan began to follow a scientific diet and regularly practice martial arts to improve her physical strength, ready to adapt to the training environment.
