Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assign the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative - Political Center to be used as an educational facility.

On September 23, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics said it had sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Department of Finance to consider and approve the transfer of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative - Political Center at 179 Bach Dang Street, Ba Ria Ward to be used as an educational facility.

The Administrative - Political Center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province was put into operation in 2012, on an area of ​​20 hectares, with a total investment of 1,000 billion VND.

According to the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, the school's current facilities are only 10 campuses, 2 dormitories in Ho Chi Minh City and 1 branch in Vinh Long. Recently, although the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has proactively invested in expanding the branch in Vinh Long and soon in Nha Trang, with the increasing number of students, the school is facing a serious shortage of space for learning, teaching and research in the direction of innovation and creativity.

According to the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, the current lecture halls and classrooms are often overloaded and cannot meet the learning needs of students. In addition, due to limitations in space, area, and facilities, the school has not been able to invest in research centers and laboratories with advanced equipment, which are the foundation for in-depth research, expansion, development of new technical fields, technology projects, international cooperation and innovation...

These fields of activity are the strengths of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, completely consistent with the strategic position of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province (old), which is the gateway to the East Sea of ​​the region, owns a long coastline and many islands, has an important position in security, national defense of the sea and islands and is also the economic, trade and service center of the southern key economic region, ensuring strong promotion of rapid and sustainable development for Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time", the document stated.

On that basis, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Department of Finance consider and approve as a basis for implementing the next procedures. Previously, Thanh Nien Newspaper also reported that the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee proposing a plan to arrange the headquarters of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative - Political Center for Saigon University to serve as an educational facility.

According to the HCM City Department of Finance, up to now, the departments, branches and sectors under the City People's Committee have basically relocated and concentrated their work in HCM City. The Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative - Political Center only uses a small part of the area to arrange work for staff of departments and agencies under agencies and units to handle transitional work, ensuring the provision of public services to organizations and individuals.
