The Civil Aviation Authority is requesting airlines to add more aircraft.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has requested Vietnamese airlines to strengthen their transport capacity and supplement and improve the operational efficiency of their aircraft fleets.

According to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, the Vietnamese civil aviation market is projected to continue recovering and developing in 2025. In February alone, the total market... air transport Passenger and cargo volumes were recorded as growing compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, the total passenger market in February reached 7.3 million passengers, an increase of 12.4% compared to the same period in 2024; of which, international passengers increased by 22%, reaching 4.2 million passengers and domestic passengers increased by 1.6%, reaching 3.1 million passengers.

During the same period, the total goods market reached 110.8 thousand tons, an increase of 39% compared to 2024; of which, domestic goods reached 22.4 thousand tons, and international goods reached 88.4 thousand tons, increasing by 29.2% and 41.7% respectively.

Nevertheless, the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority acknowledges that the aviation industry continues to face numerous difficulties due to a shortage of operating aircraft (affected by the engine recall order from Pratt & Whitney, which grounded the A321NEO fleet), continued difficulties and delays in the supply of aircraft equipment, and high fuel prices due to political instability and conflicts around the world.

To meet the needs of development and improve the efficiency of air transport operations, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires: Vietnamese airlines Strengthening transportation forces, supplementing and improving the efficiency of aircraft fleet operations; continuing to optimize flight scheduling, operation, and management to be flexible and appropriate to the infrastructure and service capacity of each airport. Improving service quality, on-time flight performance, and the utilization rate of takeoffs and landings at airports.

Vietnamese airlines continue to expand and develop their international air transport operations; particularly boosting international flights to airports in localities with tourist destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, Phu Quoc, Van Don, Cat Bi, and Da Lat; ensuring that they meet the travel needs of passengers, especially during peak holiday periods such as April 30th - May 1st, the peak summer of 2025, and National Day on September 2nd.

Vietnamese airlines are strictly complying with legal regulations on domestic air transport fares; strengthening control over ticket sales by ticket agents; and ensuring that ticket agent prices comply with regulations. At the same time, they are strictly dealing with ticket agents who operate illegally; and coordinating with relevant authorities to handle ticket agents who charge fees beyond the regulated amount if passengers complain.

Vietnamese airlines are improving the quality of receiving and processing feedback on passenger complaints and inquiries related to the use of airline services. They are proactively coordinating with the People's Committees of localities with airports and tourism and travel agencies in launching the market and developing aviation-tourism products.

At the same time, strengthen communication efforts with passengers, providing information and guidance on air travel, airline service policies, ticket prices, and aviation industry operations.
