According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, domestic airfares have dropped sharply in the first half of August. The average fares offered by domestic airlines range from 35-65% of the maximum regulated price.
According to According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, on the "golden route" Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, the highest ticket price (excluding taxes and fees) offered by Vietnam Airlines in the first half of August was about 2.2 million VND/way, equivalent to 65% of the maximum. On other departure days and times, ticket prices were much lower, with the lowest being offered by Vietravel Airlines at 750,000 VND/way, equivalent to 26% of the maximum.
For the Hanoi - Da Nang route, the highest price in early August is about 1.6 million VND/way, equivalent to 56% of the maximum price. For departure dates further away, Airline ticket prices are significantly reduced, many days have ticket prices around 25% of the maximum. Especially Vietravel Airline has a series of tickets with prices starting from only nearly 300 thousand VND/way, or 12% of the maximum (departing after 5pm on days from August 5 to 13).
Another domestic route is the Hanoi - Cam Ranh (Nha Trang) route of Vietnam Airlines with the highest ticket price appearing on August 3 at nearly 2.5 million VND/way (equal to 72% of the maximum price). For this route, Vietjet Air is offering the lowest average ticket price of only 25% of the maximum price.

The Hanoi - Da Lat route has been stable for most days. The price fluctuates between 30-40% of the maximum.
With the longest domestic flight distance between Hanoi and Phu Quoc, there are currently two airlines operating: Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air. According to the record, the highest price of Vietnam Airlines is 3.05 million VND, equivalent to 76% of the maximum price. For other flight days, airlines are offering tickets at 30-50% of the maximum price.
In particular, for early or late departures on further days, Vietnam Airline has prices from only 27% of the maximum (August 13-14), Vietjet Air only from 20% of the maximum for August 6-15.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, some localities and travel companies have programs to support accommodation for passengers when choosing to fly at night. This not only helps passengers have more options, helping to reduce costs for the entire trip, but also contributes to reducing transportation pressure for airlines during daytime hours.
It is an inevitable trend that ticket prices fluctuate higher when booking close to departure dates and lower when booking far away departure dates, which can happen at any time of the year.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam recommends that passengers choosing air transport services should plan their travel and book tickets early through official ticket sales channels, in order to be able to choose the most suitable ticket prices.
Passengers can also choose to travel early or late at night to enjoy the current preferential fare policies of airlines.
