Airfares have dropped sharply.

According to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, domestic airfares dropped sharply in the first half of August. The average fares offered by domestic airlines ranged from 35-65% of the maximum regulated price.

For the Hanoi - Da Nang route, the highest price in the first few days of August was around 1.6 million VND/one way, which is 56% of the maximum price. For longer departure dates, ticket prices of various airlines All fares have decreased significantly, with many days seeing prices around 25% off the maximum rate. Notably, Vietravel Airlines has a series of tickets priced from just under 300,000 VND/one-way, which is 12% off the maximum rate (for departures after 5 PM on days from August 5th to 13th).

Another domestic route, the Hanoi - Cam Ranh (Nha Trang) route operated by Vietnam Airlines, had the highest fare on August 3rd at nearly 2.5 million VND/one-way (equivalent to 72% of the maximum fare). For this route, Vietjet Air is offering the lowest average fare, at only 25% of the maximum fare.

Airfare prices cooled down in the first half of August.

The Hanoi - Da Lat route has remained stable for most days. Prices for this route fluctuate within 30-40% of the maximum rate.

For domestic flights with the longest distance, Hanoi - Phu Quoc, there are currently two airlines operating: Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air. According to records, the highest price offered by Vietnam Airlines is 3.05 million VND, equivalent to 76% of the maximum price. For other flight dates, airlines are offering tickets at 30-50% of the maximum price.

Specifically, for early or late departure times on later dates, Vietnam Airlines offers prices starting from only 27% of the maximum fare (August 13-14), while Vietjet Air offers prices starting from only 20% of the maximum fare for August 6-15.

According to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, some localities and travel companies have implemented programs to support accommodation for passengers who choose to fly at night. This not only gives passengers more options and helps reduce the cost of their trip, but also contributes to reducing the pressure on transportation for airlines during daytime hours.

The fact that ticket prices fluctuate, with higher prices when booked closer to departure dates and lower prices further away, is an inevitable trend that can occur at any time of year.

The Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority advises passengers choosing air travel services to plan their trips and book tickets early through official sales channels to secure the most suitable fares.
