An unauthorized garbage dump in the vacant lot of Alley 16 (Group 29, Block 2B, Cao Xanh Ward) has existed for many years, causing much frustration for the surrounding residents. Ms. Nguyen Thi Khiem, house number 45 (next to the dump), said: "Despite our protests, every evening many residents in the alley bring all kinds of waste and dump it in the vacant lot. Over time, this has formed an unauthorized garbage dump, creating a messy scene and polluting the environment in the middle of a densely populated residential area."

In April 2026, after receiving feedback and suggestions from residents, the Front Committee of Ward 2B promptly coordinated with the Ward Party Committee, the heads of residential groups 26, 27, 28, and 29, and representatives of the specialized waste collection and transportation company. They held a meeting and developed a plan for a definitive solution. Accordingly, the ward requested the company to collect waste on smaller streets as well, instead of only on main streets as before. The Front Committee and the ward also monitored waste collection to ensure timely collection and no streets were missed. Furthermore, the ward intensified its propaganda efforts to raise residents' awareness of environmental protection. In a short time, the landfill was removed, restoring a clean living environment for the residents.
Implement the plan No. 272/KH-UBND dated October 21, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee Regarding improving urban quality, In the residential area, the People's Committee of Cao Xanh ward has invested in renovating and upgrading 9 residential roads and the drainage system in groups 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 (Ha Khanh 2 neighborhood) with a total length of over 2km.
To create strong public consensus on land clearance, the Front Committee closely coordinated with the neighborhood Party branch to actively disseminate information and mobilize people to understand the meaning and importance of road expansion and neighborhood beautification. With a transparent approach and satisfactory handling of obstacles, 100% of households affected by the project agreed to donate land and structures on the land within the deadline, allowing the construction unit to promptly implement the projects.
Furthermore, the neighborhood's Community Investment Monitoring Board, chaired by the Head of the Front Committee, has demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, proactively assigning members to monitor and supervise the contractor's construction process daily. For items that do not meet quality standards, the Board promptly requests a temporary halt to construction or compels the contractor to rectify the consequences.

Thanks to this, by April 30, 2026, all nine roads were completed and put into use, meeting the transportation needs of the people. Ms. Cu Thi Van, from Group 12, said: "Previously, every time there was heavy rain, Nguyen Dinh Chieu road in front of my house would be deeply flooded, seriously affecting the transportation, daily life, and business of the people. After the road was raised, paved with asphalt, and widened from 4m to 8m, transportation has become much more convenient. The appearance of the residential area has also changed significantly." The landscape is brighter, greener, cleaner, and more beautiful, making the local people extremely happy.
Mr. Le Hong Hai, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, said: After the administrative boundary merger, the ward has 15 Fatherland Front Working Committees in residential areas. In fulfilling their assigned functions and tasks, these Committees have closely followed the local situation, staying close to the people, actively applying information technology in propaganda and mobilization efforts to effectively implement patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Fatherland Front. The focus is on the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" linked with the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods"; and the movements "The whole country joins hands for the poor - no one left behind," "Gratitude and repayment," etc.
The Front Committees also receiving and responding much conveying the legitimate concerns and aspirations of the people to higher levels ; participating in resolving conflicts and disputes arising at the grassroots level, especially complex cases related to land and the environment. family conflicts and security and order issues. Through this, we will work together with the local Party committee and government to successfully implement the tasks and goals of socio -economic development in the locality, while strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the State, and building a solid national unity.
