Living in the land of the stars and stripes for more than 6 months, her family has gradually gotten used to life in a foreign land, and her son has also stabilized his studies.

Hoang Dung shared that the biggest reason she left Vietnam was because she wanted her son to have the opportunity to study and work long-term in the US. When she applied for immigration, she was stressed because she had to complete legal procedures, while still having to run her daily business and prepare to defend her doctoral thesis at the grassroots level.

"There were too many things piled up at the same time, making me tired and even giving up at times. But thanks to the encouragement of my family and son, I was finally able to overcome all the difficulties. On the plane to the US, I breathed a sigh of relief because I had just defended my PhD thesis at the grassroots level a few days earlier," she recalled.

Like many Vietnamese people, when moving to a foreign country with many differences in culture and lifestyle, Hoang Dung also felt a bit unsteady mentally because she had to get used to everything from the beginning. However, she was lucky to have stable finances so she did not have to worry about money or the pressure of finding a job.

Hoang Dung herself has worked in the labor export and beauty industry for 20 years, so she is used to frequent business trips abroad, exposed to many cultures, and even lived in Korea and Japan for a while. Therefore, she is not too shocked to settle in the US, but is more worried about her son, because at college age, he will have invisible pressures from the learning environment and making friends.

“Perhaps my biggest difficulty when I came to America was not being used to driving myself. In Vietnam, I would have a private driver to pick me up and drop me off, but here I drive myself. My eyesight is a bit poor, while the speed of vehicles in America is quite fast, so at first I was quite scared. Gradually, I was able to drive more confidently,” said Hoang Dung.

When asked if she feels 'lonely' living in the US, Hoang Dung said that she has family and many Vietnamese friends so she doesn't feel lonely, but only feels homesick all the time. To ease her worries, Hoang Dung often cooks Vietnamese dishes for her family to enjoy.

Hoang Dung is a person who loves to travel and always knows how to enjoy life. When she came to America, she still maintained her lifestyle preferences. She said that in just the past 6 months, she and her family have traveled to 10 states in the US. She often takes advantage of the weekends, when her son is on school break, to plan trips with her family to explore many famous places.

Every day, Hoang Dung will divide her schedule scientifically to manage her business in Vietnam and Korea online, while also cooking and cleaning the house. She confided that Asian food in the US is easy to find as it is sold offline in many supermarket systems and online.

Therefore, if she does not have time to go to the supermarket, she will buy ingredients or cooking utensils through shopping apps and have them delivered to her home. As for wearing a different branded outfit every day to record videos , Hoang Dung explained with a smile that it has been her hobby for many years. She is someone who likes to dress nicely and is meticulous about her clothes.

Settling in the US - a place known as a shopping paradise for the upper class, Hoang Dung seems to have more opportunities to shop to satisfy her hobby. "Once I wore a 100 million VND outfit to film a cooking video, and the audience humorously commented that "100 million VND to buy a set of clothes, you can't finish eating for a month, why bother going into the kitchen or hiring a maid to cook for yourself". I just laughed and didn't know how to explain. At the age of over 40, I am enjoying life in my own way when I have worked hard to have a stable financial situation like now", she said.
