Each athlete winning the 33rd SEA Games gold medal will receive a bonus of 10 million VND.

The bonuses will be given at the following levels: 10 million VND, 5 million VND and 3 million VND for gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. The bonuses will be awarded immediately after the athletes finish competing, creating timely encouragement in the context of intense competition and great pressure to achieve results.

The Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Olympic Committee are actively calling on businesses to sponsor bonuses for the delegation.

How valuable is the bonus to the athlete?

Although not large compared to the total bonus according to the State's regulations and sponsors after the SEA Games ends, the bonus has a special significance for athletes at the time of competition.

A national athlete shared: "The policy of giving bonuses shows the close attention of the sports industry leaders, helping us to be more confident when entering the regional arena. When bonuses are applied clearly and publicly, athletes have more motivation to improve their personal achievements. Even small but fairly awarded rewards will contribute to creating a positive competition culture, aiming for the overall achievements of the whole team."

The Vietnamese sports delegation, led by Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, will attend the departure ceremony on November 28 in Hanoi . It is expected that the Government leaders will be present at the departure ceremony, encourage and assign tasks to the delegation.
