The effectiveness of poverty reduction communication work in Dray Bhang

In 2013, through village meetings and poverty reduction propaganda programs, Mrs. H'Noai Kbuôr and her husband in Nam Hoa village learned about the preferential loan policy for poor households and boldly borrowed 30 million VND to invest in cattle farming.

Since accessing capital, Ms. H'Noai has been more active in seeking information. Every evening, she watches TV and reads newspapers to learn about cow raising, grass growing, and safe animal care models. She has acquired new knowledge such as how to compost food, treat manure, and prevent seasonal diseases through agricultural and extension programs.

In addition, the commune also organized livestock training classes to help her and other households update techniques and change their thinking. From just raising cattle according to habit, Mrs. H'Noai began to apply systematic techniques, know how to calculate costs and proactively source food for her herd.

Thanks to proper care, her family's herd of cows grew healthily, helping the family increase their income significantly. After only 3 years, Mrs. H'Noai and her husband paid back the entire loan from the bank. The rest was kept to continue to increase the herd. After a long time of saving, her family was able to build a solid house and escape poverty in 2016.

Thanks to proper care, Mrs. H' Noai Kbuôr's herd of cows has grown healthily, helping her family escape poverty.

Ms. H' Noai shared that thanks to timely access to information on livestock farming techniques, markets and effective economic models, her family has changed their way of doing things, gradually escaped poverty, stabilized their lives and become more and more confident in moving forward.

With a spirit of diligence and hard work, Mr. Y Binh and his family members not only maintain their daily jobs but also take on hired work, taking advantage of every opportunity to improve their lives.

In 2023, Mr. Y Binh Kdrai's family in Ea Bhok village was able to borrow 90 million VND from the preferential program for poor households of the Social Policy Bank to invest in planting nearly 2 sao of coffee. Thanks to the accurate and complete information, the family not only accessed the support capital but also learned many effective economic models and applied them in practice. Receiving information has helped change awareness, improve understanding of the meaning and goals of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, and at the same time created motivation for the family to proactively rise out of poverty.

Thanks to a loan from the Social Policy Bank, Mr. Y Binh Kdrai's family has boldly invested in farming and livestock farming.

Mr. Y Binh expressed: "Thanks to receiving timely information, the family has made plans to invest, develop production, increase income and improve life, and soon escape poverty."

According to the Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Dray Bhang Commune, Le Huu Hung, in the coming time, Dray Bhang Commune will continue to innovate its communication methods for poverty reduction by focusing on spreading typical examples, initiatives and typical poverty reduction models, creating a positive spillover effect through many communication channels. In addition, the commune also focuses on implementing practical communication solutions, suitable to the actual conditions of the locality to improve the effectiveness of sustainable poverty reduction work.
