Da Nang makes a breakthrough in attracting investment

DNVN - According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, domestic and international investment capital flowing into the area is making a clear breakthrough, showing the growing attraction of this city on the investment map.

From August 1 to 20, Da Nang attracted a total of nearly 77,400 billion VND in domestic investment capital, including 3 newly licensed projects with a total capital of nearly 2,000 billion VND and 1 project with an additional capital increase of nearly 75,400 billion VND. In the first 8 months of 2025 (from January 1 to August 20), the total domestic investment capital in Da Nang was nearly 140,500 billion VND; including 72 newly licensed projects with a capital of more than 46,000 billion VND and 27 projects with an additional capital increase of nearly 94,500 billion VND.

Construction of Chu Lai Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park expansion (Da Nang City) started in August 2025.

Regarding foreign direct investment (FDI), in August 2025 (from August 1 to 20), Da Nang attracted 94.9 million USD, an increase of more than 9 times compared to the same period last year. Of which, 10 projects were newly licensed with a total registered capital of 94.8 million USD (in the same period in 2024, FDI attraction reached 10.3 million USD).

From the beginning of the year to August 20, Da Nang City attracted 333.3 million USD in FDI capital; of which 72 new projects were granted with newly registered capital reaching 225.9 million USD; 24 projects adjusted to increase or decrease capital with a total capital of 86 million USD; and 29 purchases of capital contributions in economic organizations with a total value of 21.5 million USD.

According to the Da Nang Statistical Office, not only thanks to its strategic location and gradually improving infrastructure, but also thanks to the open policies and commitment of the government, the city is gradually affirming its dynamic, safe and potential investment environment. This positive development creates an important foundation for the city to promote growth, expand cooperation and move towards long-term development goals.

“Da Nang is affirming its position as an attractive investment destination thanks to its strategic geographical advantages, gradually synchronous infrastructure system, young and dynamic workforce and increasingly open policy environment. With the orientation of attracting high-quality capital flows, the city aims to pioneer in developing the digital economy, building smart cities and promoting green growth,” said the Da Nang Statistical Office.

The agency also said that in August 2025, Da Nang City held a conference to promote investment in the free trade zone (FTZ) with the theme "Creating development space with Da Nang FTZ". This event took place right after the Prime Minister issued Decision 1142/QD-TTg on the establishment of Da Nang FTZ with a total area of ​​1,881 hectares, including 7 functional areas.

Each region has its own distinct role but all aim towards the common goal of promoting international integration, applying superior preferential mechanisms in customs, taxes, logistics, investment, technology and services, thereby forming a new growth pole of the Central Highlands.
