On the morning of May 23, the Office of the People's Committee of Da Nang City announced that the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Mr. Le Quang Nam, had signed a decision approving a list of 113 locations and land plots identified for the development of social housing in the city.
This list is published to provide a basis for attracting investors to participate in the development of social housing funds in the future.
The largest area designated for social housing development is located in Hoa Khanh commune, with 18 sites totaling 31.9 hectares; of which, the largest planned site is LX11-OCT01 in the central Green Core subdivision.
Notably, Nui Thanh commune (south of the city) is also planned with 4 zones, totaling 22.5 hectares; of which the planned social housing plots are located within the Chu Lai Urban Area with an area of 17.4 hectares…
According to the decision, the Da Nang City Department of Construction is tasked with publicly announcing the list of locations and land plots for businesses and investors interested in researching and registering to invest in the construction of social housing.

In addition, the Department of Construction will take the lead in reviewing and coordinating with relevant agencies to advise on adjusting the planning targets for social housing construction areas in order to effectively utilize land resources and contribute to achieving the assigned social housing development targets.
For locations and land plots where investment approval has not yet been granted, or where approval has been granted but no investor has been selected, the city will assign the investor and approve the investment policy simultaneously without a bidding process, in accordance with the pilot law on special mechanisms and policies for the development of social housing.
For land plots proposed by investors with land use rights, the Department of Construction will coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to review social housing needs, assess planning suitability, conditions for adjusting urban and rural planning, conditions for changing land use purposes, and other legal requirements before advising the City People's Committee to consider approving the investment policy.
The City People's Committee also requested the Department of Construction to guide investors in fully complying with legal regulations on investment, planning, land, construction, and related regulations; and to strengthen monitoring and urging the progress of approved social housing projects. Cases of delayed progress or failure to ensure construction quality will be inspected and handled according to regulations...
According to the Da Nang City Department of Construction, the city currently has 20 social housing projects underway, with a total of approximately 18,265 apartments. Of these, 13 projects have received investment approval; and 7 projects are under construction.
In addition, the city is continuing to evaluate four more new projects with approximately 7,527 apartments to submit to the City People's Committee for consideration.
According to the plan for the period 2025-2030, Da Nang has been assigned the target by the Government to complete approximately 28,955 social housing units, with 26,097 units specifically for the period 2026-2030.
