Da Nang wants to 'cover' pickleball in schools

TPO - On April 16, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City said it had sent a document to the Departments of Education and Training, schools, and centers about implementing pickleball training.

Based on the proposal of the Da Nang City Pickleball Federation and the suggestions of units and schools on the implementation of pickleball, the Director of the Department of Education and Training requested units and schools to launch a movement to practice and compete in pickleball for all cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, students and trainees.

At the same time, collect and synthesize data at primary and secondary schools, schools and centers under the Department for the Department of Education and Training to synthesize and have a basis to propose to the City Pickleball Federation to support rackets, balls and professional training sessions.

The Department of Education and Training added that it is expected that in early August 2025, the Department will coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports and the Da Nang City Pickleball Federation to organize a pickleball tournament for officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the entire industry. "To prepare for the above tournament, it is recommended that units and schools, based on the actual conditions at their units, study the construction of training grounds or renovate existing sports grounds to add pickleball practice functions according to needs and ensure regulations," the Department of Education and Training noted.

Previously, in March 2025, Da Nang established the Pickleball Federation. The Da Nang City Pickleball Federation is a social-professional organization, organized and operated according to the charter approved by the Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, in compliance with the provisions of law, under the state management of the Da Nang City People's Committee, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Home Affairs and relevant state agencies. The Federation has legal status, its own seal and account, self-guarantees its own funding, headquarters and means of operation.
