(PLVN) - Da Nang City has just welcomed thousands of tourists to "inaugurate" the year 2005, hoping for a successful year for tourism and the economy .
On the morning of January 1st, Da Nang City organized a series of activities to welcome nearly 3,000 tourists who arrived in the city by air and sea.
At 6:45 AM, the city welcomed nearly 2,000 tourists of European and American nationalities aboard the super cruise ship Noordam, which docked at Tien Sa port. The ship departed from Singapore on December 22, 2024, passing through Thailand and Cambodia before arriving in Vietnam.

In Da Nang, tourists can visit famous destinations such as Marble Mountains, Linh Ung Pagoda, and more.
According to forecasts from Da Nang Port, the number of visitors arriving in the city by sea this year is expected to grow strongly. Tien Sa Port anticipates receiving 76 cruise ships, with an estimated 70,000 passengers.

Meanwhile, from 8 am to 10 am at the arrival terminal of Da Nang International Airport, a welcome program for air travelers, organized by the Da Nang City Department of Tourism in coordination with Da Nang International Airport and Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock Company, surprised many tourists.

The organizers arranged a spectacular art program, presented New Year's greeting cards, and gave away vouchers to visit famous destinations in Da Nang such as Danang Downtown, Sun World Ba Na Hills, etc.
Da Nang's tourism industry has prepared nearly 1,000 service experience vouchers to give away to the first tourists arriving in Da Nang.
On the first day of the new year 2025, Da Nang International Airport welcomed 125 flights to Da Nang, including 57 international flights. Specifically for the New Year's Day holiday period in 2025, from December 28, 2024 to January 1, 2025, Da Nang International Airport received over 600 flights, an increase of 15.6% compared to the same period in 2024.

According to Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, this is an optimistic sign regarding welcoming tourists to Da Nang in 2025.
Mr. Dung stated that in 2024, the city's tourism sector achieved exceptionally positive results beyond expectations, with a strong surge in several new and large markets. The industry will need to change its approach to structuring tourist sources and exploiting these markets in 2025 and subsequent years.

"We must mobilize all resources for in-depth market promotion activities, and mobilize more resources to focus on promoting the destination brand rather than promoting individual businesses," Mr. Dung said.
