Da Nang has the ambition to become an international innovative startup city.

On November 26, at the conference summarizing the implementation of the project "Supporting the national innovation and startup ecosystem (IEC) to 2025" (Project 844), the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang said that in the period 2022-2025, the city's IEC ecosystem will continue to expand and develop deeply.

Da Nang currently has 3 startup support centers, 12 incubators, 8 co-working spaces, 3 invention spaces, dozens of startup clubs at universities, and a network of about 200 active creative startups. Every year, Da Nang organizes an average of 50 large and small-scale innovation events, contributing to strongly promoting connections and spreading the entrepreneurial spirit in the community.

In particular, the city has implemented 7 specific policies according to Resolution 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly , including tax exemption policy for innovative startups, support for the development of innovative startups, controlled testing of new technology solutions (sandbox), infrastructure support for AI and semiconductor businesses, development of high-quality human resources... These policies have created an open legal environment, encouraging many technology businesses to choose Da Nang as a place to develop.

At the same time, direct support for startups has also achieved clear results. In the period 2022 - 2025, Da Nang has supported a total of 45 businesses to develop projects with a total budget of 11.4 billion VND, of which many startups have grown rapidly and raised millions of USD in capital such as Selly, Hekate, EM&AI, VOOC...

Innovation communication activities also recorded a breakthrough with more than 3,000 news, articles and reports published; international events such as SURF and DAVAS 2024–2025 attracted dozens of investment funds and thousands of attendees, contributing to raising Da Nang's position on the innovation map.

Thanks to concerted efforts, in 2025, Da Nang was for the first time in the Top 1,000 global startup ecosystems according to StartupBlink's assessment, ranking 766th, up 130 places compared to the previous year. This is an encouraging result, demonstrating the spirit of innovation, adaptability and consensus of the entire ecosystem.

Aiming to turn Da Nang into a startup and innovation center of the Central Highlands region, the conference also frankly pointed out a number of shortcomings affecting the development speed of the ecosystem, and at the same time proposed solutions and development orientations for the coming time.

According to Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee Le Quang Nam, the city is determined to build and develop a strong, modern and internationally integrated innovation startup ecosystem. With the support of businesses, institutes, schools, support organizations and the startup community, Da Nang aims to become one of the leading innovation centers in Vietnam and the region in the period 2026 - 2030 and an international-class innovation startup city.

To achieve the above goals, Da Nang City will continue to improve and enhance the effectiveness of startup support policies, especially in terms of capital, market and legal procedures; build effective public-private partnership models in ecosystem development; promote technology enterprises in key areas such as AI, digital transformation, automation, and biotechnology.

At the same time, strongly expand national and international connections to attract high-quality resources; promote the leading role of schools, incubators, investment funds and attract large technology corporations to participate in the ecosystem.
