The body of a drowned girl has been found in Dak Phoi commune.

Hoang Thanh Be, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Phoi commune (Lak district), confirmed that the body of the missing girl who drowned in the commune has been found.

After five days of intensive searching, at approximately 10:30 AM on September 7, 2023, the search and rescue team of Dak Phoi commune and local residents found the body of HVL (born in 2016, residing in Nam hamlet, Dak Phoi commune, Lak district) at an old hydroelectric dam spillway in Pai Ar hamlet (Dak Phoi commune, Lak district). Because the child's body was trapped in a rock in the Dak Phoi stream, the search and rescue team and residents had to use tools to retrieve the body.

The body of child V. has now been returned to the family for funeral arrangements.

V. was one of two victims of the tragic drowning incident that occurred in Dak Phoi commune on the afternoon of September 2, 2023, while she was in the forest with her aunt collecting bamboo shoots. Her aunt, HDL (born in 1994, residing at the same address in Nam hamlet, Dak Phoi commune), had her body found by rescue forces and local people on the afternoon of September 4.
