Education sector proactively responds to floods

The Department of Education and Training has just issued Document No. 1524/SGDĐT-VP dated November 17, 2025 to the People's Committees of communes, wards and affiliated units on proactive response to floods.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Dak Lak Province Hydro-Meteorological Station: it is forecasted that from the night of November 15 to November 18, the area from South Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa will have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall of 150-300mm, locally over 400mm; directly affecting Dak Lak province.

To proactively respond to floods, flash floods, landslides and localized inundation, the Department of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of communes and wards (to direct educational institutions in the area) and units under the department to proactively respond to floods.

Specifically, closely monitor the developments of floods, local inundation, flash floods, landslides due to the impact of floods through forecasts and warnings of hydrometeorological agencies on mass media. Timely inform students, teachers, and workers of the management unit to raise vigilance, ensure safety of life and property, especially units in the communes: Cu Pui, Yang Mao, Dang Kang, Lien Son Lak, Dak Lieng, Hoa Son, Krong Bong, Dak Phoi, Song Hinh, Ea Ba, Ea Ly...

Regularly inspect and reinforce structures at risk of being unsafe, coordinate with specialized units to trim the green tree system inside the school, check the sewer system, and the power grid to ensure the safety of students, teachers and administrators before floods occur.

Prepare plans to evacuate students and teachers to safe places; move documents and equipment to safe locations before storms and floods; proactively coordinate with local authorities to receive professional support, materials and equipment when situations arise.

Proactively develop plans to respond to situations of heavy rain, floods, flash floods, and landslides to minimize damage to people and property; assign forces to be on duty 24/7 when natural disasters occur.

Heads of educational institutions promptly report to the Department of Education and Training and local authorities any unusual cases and incidents for direction and guidance on handling.
