Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Le Van Thu, Deputy Head of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City informed that every year, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City organizes the launching ceremony of "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" to unite overseas Vietnamese, relatives of overseas Vietnamese and those working in overseas Vietnamese affairs to participate in planting trees and protecting the environment.

This year, 40 delegates who are overseas Vietnamese in countries including Japan, Australia, Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Hungary, New Zealand, etc., along with relatives of overseas Vietnamese and people working on overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City planted 30 rosewood trees at the Revolutionary Traditional Area of the 1968 Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising, located in the Lang Le - Bau Co Relic Complex (Tan Nhut Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), contributing to increasing the green area in the city named after Uncle Ho.
