Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy appoints principals of three 'subsidiary' schools

TPO - On July 1, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced that it has just appointed the principal and vice principal of three newly established member schools: School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing - Medical Technology.

Accordingly, Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Dao was appointed as the Principal of the School of Pharmacy. The two Vice Principals are Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Tuan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Hai.

Associate Professor, Dr. Phung Nguyen The Nguyen was appointed as Principal of the School of Medicine. The two Vice Principals are Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Nghia and Dr. Tran Cong Thang.

Dr. Tran Thuy Khanh Linh was appointed as Principal of the School of Nursing and Medical Technology. The Vice Principal is Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhan.

Prof. Dr. Tran Diep Tuan, Chairman of the Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, emphasized the central role of practical activities in medical training, and expected that member schools would build training programs that closely follow reality, enhance applied research capacity and effectively connect with the community.

Previously, in early June 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced the establishment of the three above-mentioned member schools. In addition to these three schools, the university will retain four faculties: Dentistry, Public Health , Traditional Medicine and Basic Sciences.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy owns a hospital and many affiliated centers and units, including 3 hospital facilities, 11 functional departments, 7 specialized centers and 4 units serving training and research. The school aims to become one of the leading universities in Asia in health sciences .

The completion of the leadership apparatus at the school level is considered a necessary step for the multidisciplinary and multi-field university model at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City to operate synchronously. At the same time, this is also a premise for the school to continue the process of university autonomy, towards integration and sustainable development in the coming time.
