Party Congress of Defense Command of Region 2

On the morning of July 25, the Party Committee of the Defense Command of Region 2 - Long Xuyen held its first Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term. Colonel Nguyen Thanh An (Party Committee member, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of An Giang province) attended and directed the congress.

The unit manages the area including 32 communes and wards, the border line is nearly 49km long, the area is large, the natural area is nearly ^2,500km2 , the population is more than 1.1 million people. After nearly 1 month of establishment, the Party Committee has led and directed the comprehensive implementation of all aspects of military work, local defense, Party building work; proactively coordinated to maintain national border sovereignty, political security, social order and safety, creating a stable environment for the cause of construction and socio-economic development in the area.
