Ambassador Phan Minh Giang presents his credentials to Governor General of New Zealand Cindy Kiro

The Governor-General of New Zealand hopes that the two countries will closely coordinate to effectively implement the newly established Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Ambassador Phan Minh Giang presented the Letter of Credence of President Luong Cuong to Governor-General of New Zealand Cindy Kiro.

On April 16, at the New Zealand Governor-General's Palace in Wellington, Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Phan Minh Giang presented the Letter of Credence from President Luong Cuong to New Zealand Governor-General Cindy Kiro.

The ceremony was solemnly held, with the participation of representatives of the Governor-General's Office, the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand and officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand.

At the reception following the presentation of credentials, New Zealand Governor-General Cindy Kiro congratulated Ambassador Phan Minh Giang on assuming his new position on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1975-2025), and the two countries agreed to upgrade the Vietnam-New Zealand relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the official visit of the New Zealand Prime Minister to Vietnam in February 2025.

Affirming that she will support Ambassador Phan Minh Giang in fulfilling his duties, Governor General Cindy Kiro expressed her belief that Ambassador Phan Minh Giang will make many positive contributions to strengthening the friendly relationship and good cooperation between the two countries.

In the coming time, the Governor-General of New Zealand hopes that the two countries will closely coordinate to effectively implement the newly established Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, potential and strength for Vietnam and New Zealand, while promoting exchanges and connections between businesses and people of the two countries, as well as continuing to strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional multilateral forums.

At the reception, Ambassador Phan Minh Giang expressed his honor to assume the responsibility of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to New Zealand, and respectfully conveyed the regards and best wishes of the President and senior leaders of Vietnam to the Governor General, the Government and people of New Zealand.

Ambassador Phan Minh Giang affirmed that he will do his utmost to contribute to promoting the newly established Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening a new phase of cooperation, bringing the Vietnam-New Zealand relationship to stronger, deeper and more comprehensive development, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Ambassador expressed his gratitude and wished that the New Zealand Government would continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, work and study in New Zealand, continuing to serve as an increasingly solid bridge, tightening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
