Ho Chi Minh City Television celebrates 50 years of first broadcast

NDO - On May 1, Ho Chi Minh City Television held a ceremony to receive the First Class Labor Medal and a meeting program with the theme "A life, a forest" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first broadcast (May 1, 1975 - May 1, 2025).

At the program, the delegates reviewed the history of the establishment and development of the station over 50 years. 50 years ago, Saigon Liberation Radio and Television was still a primitive station with rudimentary equipment. The station has gone through five decades to become one of the prestigious and widespread television brands nationwide.

The half-century journey of silent people, of endless creativity for the audience, has been recreated through the art exchange program with the theme "A life, a forest" with the participation of many artists and actors, including many famous and mature artists who used to work at Ho Chi Minh City Television.

At the meeting, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le, authorized by the President, awarded Ho Chi Minh City Television the First Class Labor Medal for its outstanding achievements in propaganda in the fields of politics , economics, society and social security work, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

Delegates, members of units and organizations participated in the bicycle parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first broadcast of the Station.

On this occasion, the City Television Station was also honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City.

In a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first broadcast of the Station, nearly 1,000 members of agencies, units and organizations participated in a parade over 24km through a series of symbolic routes such as: Dong Khoi, Nguyen Hue, Tran Hung Dao, Dien Bien Phu, Thu Thiem 1 Bridge...
