The delegation visited Luong Ngoc Quyen High School in Phan Dinh Phung Ward. The school was established in October 1946, the first high school in Thai Nguyen province and the whole Viet Bac region. During the resistance war years, thousands of students and teachers of the school joined the army, becoming steadfast revolutionary soldiers, many generations of exemplary students grew up, contributing blood and bones to the cause of national reunification.
On March 13, 1960, the school was honored and proud to have President Ho Chi Minh visit and advise the school's staff, teachers, employees and students, "You must study well, work well and unite well." Following Uncle Ho's teachings, over the past 80 years, the school has trained tens of thousands of students, many of whom have become outstanding scientists , leaders and businessmen of the country. Hundreds of students have won national and international prizes in competitions in Mathematics, Physics, Informatics, Culture - Arts, Science and Technology, etc.
Talking to the school's staff, teachers and students, General Phan Van Giang emotionally recalled his memories of his student days and shared valuable lessons for the younger generation. The General sent his best wishes for the new school year to all teachers and students of the school, wishing them good health and continued dedication to the cause of educating people. General Phan Van Giang also wished the school's students to study hard and practice well to become excellent citizens, contributing to building and protecting the Fatherland.
Next, the delegation went to Nha Trang Secondary School in Phan Dinh Phung ward, Thai Nguyen province.
Here, General Phan Van Giang visited a number of classrooms, inquired about the teaching and learning situation, encouraged the staff and teachers to continue to fulfill their tasks well; advised students to be good, listen to teachers and parents, strive to study well to become useful people for society.
On behalf of the Ministry of National Defense , General Phan Van Giang presented each school with 30 new computers and some equipment for teaching and learning; hoping that the schools would continue to improve the quality of education, especially in the field of information technology.
The visit and gift-giving by General Phan Van Giang and the delegation demonstrated the deep concern of the Party, the State as well as the Ministry of National Defense for the cause of education and was a great source of encouragement for cadres, teachers and students of schools in Thai Nguyen province. The meaningful gifts presented on this occasion further motivated the schools to constantly innovate and improve the quality of teaching and learning, meeting the development requirements in the integration period.
