New rural light of Dak Ha
In just a few days of campaigning, many roads in Dak Ha commune, Dak Glong district, have been covered with streetlights, making it easier for people to travel at night.

Previously, people in the commune were reluctant to go out at night because the roads were narrow, dark, and difficult to navigate. To ensure convenient travel and daily life for the people, at the beginning of 2025, the Dak Ha commune government launched the "Rural Lighting" model.
Thanks to this model, 460 LED streetlights were installed on the main roads in the villages and hamlets in a short period of time, equivalent to a cost of 676 million VND. The entire cost was raised from contributions from the local people.

“Before, few people dared to go out at night. Now, with the streetlights illuminating the area, the atmosphere in the village has become much more cheerful. People are exercising along the road more often. The aesthetics of the new rural commune have improved,” shared Ms. Bui Thi Oanh, a resident of Hamlet 1, Dak Ha Commune, with delight.
The implementation of this model has also contributed to changing the appearance of the locality. On village and hamlet roads, streetlights are switched on regularly from 6:00 PM every day. The streetlights illuminate the entire residential area.

Following the model, Mrs. Tran Thi Thu Thuy's family in Hamlet 8 also spent 1.5 million VND to install LED lights in front of their house. Now that they have the lights, their evening business is much more vibrant. The once quiet street has become much busier and more bustling.
In sparsely populated areas, the model has helped people feel more secure in their work and production. Mr. K'Sieng, a resident of Hamlet 3, shared: "Since the lights were installed, children can go to school and play without fear of the dark. People returning from working in the fields late at night are less rushed; there is no longer the worry of theft of agricultural products at night when drying them."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Que, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dak Ha commune, said: “The ‘Rural Lighting’ model not only helps people travel more conveniently, but also contributes to ensuring security and order in the area. In the coming time, we will continue to propagate and mobilize people to work together to expand the ‘Rural Lighting’ model to the remaining areas.”
Dak Glong district aims to have one more new rural commune by 2025. The remaining communes will achieve 15 or more new rural commune criteria. Quang Khe commune has achieved 8 out of 19 advanced new rural commune criteria; Dak Ha commune has achieved 6 out of 19 advanced new rural commune criteria.
Towards a sustainable new rural area.
Dak Glong district is striving to achieve an additional 1-2 criteria for the New Rural District program by the end of 2025.

Quang Son and Dak Som communes have registered to strive to achieve New Rural Area standards by 2026-2027. The remaining communes have achieved over 15 criteria. Regarding the New Rural Area criteria for villages in the particularly disadvantaged communes of the district, the goal is to have an additional 5 villages/hamlets meet the standards.
To achieve this goal, the district is focusing on promoting awareness among the people about the New Rural Development program. At the same time, the district is supporting agricultural cooperatives to boost production along sustainable value chains.

Local authorities continue to invest in and upgrade essential infrastructure such as roads, water supply, schools, and health centers to ensure the best possible living and production conditions for the people.
According to Mr. Doan Van Phuong, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, to realize the set goals, Dak Glong is focusing on solutions to develop the rural economy and increase people's income. The local government encourages the development of high-tech production models, supports cooperatives, and organizes linkages for the consumption of agricultural products.

The implementation of vocational training programs and the transfer of scientific and technical knowledge to rural workers has also been intensified. The district continues to coordinate with credit institutions to help people access preferential capital sources to support production and business.
In addition, the district focuses on protecting the rural environment by promoting waste collection, building wastewater treatment systems, and raising environmental awareness in the community.

With the determination of the government and the unity of the people, Dak Glong is gradually realizing the goal of building a sustainable new rural area, contributing to improving the economic and social life and creating a solid foundation for future development.
By the end of 2024, each commune in Dak Glong district will have achieved an average of 12.9 new rural development criteria; no commune will have achieved fewer than 10 criteria. Of these, 4 communes will have achieved 14 criteria, and 1 commune will have achieved 15 criteria.
