The Democratic Party rules out the possibility of replacing Biden.

Following Biden's poor performance in the debate, Democratic leaders firmly rejected calls to choose a younger candidate for the November 5 election. Meanwhile, Biden, 81, also discussed the issue with family members at the President's Camp David resort on June 30.

The New York Times, citing sources familiar with the situation, reported that Biden's family is urging him to stay in the race and continue fighting. Some members of his family have expressed frustration with how his staff prepared for the debate on May 27th.

Calls for Biden to drop out of the race have continued since May 27th. A CBS poll after the debate showed that the number of Democrats who believe Biden should not run has increased by 10 percentage points, from 36% in February to 46%.

"The regrettable truth is that Mr. Biden should withdraw from the race for the good of the country... Retirement is now necessary for President Biden," the Atlanta Constitution Journal stated in an editorial on June 30.

Democratic leaders have rejected this. Georgia Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock, one of the Democrats considered a potential replacement for Biden, responded: "Absolutely not. I endorse Joe Biden, and our job is to ensure that he crosses the finish line in November."

House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, who could become Speaker of the House next year if his party gains control of the House in November, acknowledged that Biden suffered a defeat, but that it was "just preparation for a comeback."

Senator Chris Coons, Biden's leading nominee, said Biden needs to continue in the race to beat Trump. "I think he's the only Democrat who can beat Donald Trump."

Although Democratic leaders have expressed no desire to replace Biden, the US President ultimately decides whether or not he wants to end his re-election bid.

Representative Jamie Raskin, a prominent Democrat in the U.S. Congress , said that "very honest and serious" internal dialogues are taking place within the party. He stated, "Whether he is the candidate or someone else is the candidate, he will be the keynote speaker at our convention. He will be the figure we rally around to move forward."

Earlier in the debate with former President Donald Trump on June 27, Biden, with his hoarse voice, delivered a shaky, hesitant performance, stuttering several times. Some Democrats believe this performance may have been a factor in his elimination.
