While bathing in the river, a man was attacked and died by a crocodile

While bathing in the river with his relatives, Mr. Arifuddin was suddenly attacked by a crocodile and died.

At that time, Mr. Arifuddin (photo), 53 years old, was bathing with relatives along the Bulete River when he was suddenly attacked by a crocodile, biting his leg.

The victim screamed as the crocodile clamped down and pulled him into deeper water.

Some witnesses tried to save Mr. Arifuddin but it was too late.

"At that time, the victim was bathing with his relatives. Immediately after that, people heard screams. Arifuddin's relatives realized that he had been attacked by a crocodile," said Jerry Saputra from the Pitumpanua Fire and Rescue Team.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the attack at around 6pm on August 14. Mr Arifuddin’s body was found and handed over to his relatives for burial.

Locals said they were shocked because they used to bathe and do laundry in this river.
