8,800 volunteers from 43 universities, colleges and communes and wards in Hanoi are ready to serve the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

On the evening of August 16, at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi), the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi organized the program "Meeting volunteers serving in the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025)".

Attending the event were Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam; representatives of city departments, branches and sectors, and 8,800 volunteers from 43 universities, colleges and communes and wards in Hanoi .

Volunteers are carefully selected for their political and moral qualities; have good academic achievements; some groups of volunteers have good foreign language skills and are in good health to perform assigned tasks.

Volunteers will guide delegates and distribute necessities at the Ba Dinh Square grandstand area; distribute necessities to serve people at points along the parade route; manage warehouses, allocate and transport items to distribution points; support security, order, environmental sanitation, etc.; support welcoming delegations of people from provinces and cities across the country and international delegations to attend the ceremony.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Student Association of Hanoi Nguyen Tien Hung said that 80 years ago, union members and young people were the vanguard force standing up with the entire people to fight for national independence and freedom. Today, in a sacred and proud atmosphere, the youth of the capital are honored to be assigned by the city to carry out important tasks in organizing the ceremony.

This is an opportunity for each young person to express their national pride and dedication. With the spirit of "Wherever there is a need, there is a youth", the volunteers will excellently complete all assigned tasks. The union members and young people will be the ones to contribute to spreading national pride, creating a beautiful and impressive image of the capital Hanoi, and further, the image of young Vietnamese people to people across the country and international friends.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung also hopes that the union members and young people will uphold the spirit of true volunteerism, professional and civilized manners, so that 8,800 enthusiastic green hearts will become a united force, contributing to the success of the great celebration.

At the program, the Hanoi Youth Union presented uniform items such as shirts, hats, volunteer cards, etc.; organized training for volunteers on supporting security and order, ensuring environmental sanitation, guiding escape, moving victims, first aid; notes when performing tasks, manners, discipline and ensuring safety, etc.

The Hanoi Youth Union arranged more than 200 cars to transport 8,800 volunteers, ensuring safety and efficiency for volunteers while performing their tasks.
