Evaluation of the effectiveness of agricultural extension and community extension activities

QTO - On October 1-2, the National Agricultural Extension Center coordinated with the Quang Tri Agricultural Extension Center to organize a conference on "Evaluating the effectiveness of agricultural extension and community agricultural extension (KNCĐ) activities in implementing the 2-level local government model in the North Central provinces".

The two-tier local government model is creating a great opportunity to reorganize the agricultural extension system towards being closer to the people and serving farmers better. In the context of reduced human resources, many provinces are still actively promoting communication and digital transformation in agricultural extension activities. KNCĐ groups continue to play a role in technical support, market connection, and dissemination of production experience, especially in activities related to new rural construction...

However, currently, the arrangement of agricultural extension staff is still facing many difficulties. In Quang Tri , before the arrangement, there were 110 agricultural extension staff but now only 69 people have been accepted, 12 people have quit, the rest have not been arranged. In addition, the extension teams are still operating under the old administrative units, not yet reorganized according to the new communes.

The conference will focus on discussing and proposing orientations for the coming time with main contents such as: Perfecting the agricultural extension organization model suitable for the two-level government; consolidating the grassroots agricultural extension force and extension teams; mobilizing the participation of communities, organizations, private enterprises and other individuals in the process of transferring knowledge, techniques, providing services and resources to improve the efficiency of agricultural production...

The biggest message spread this time is: Agricultural extension is no longer just about transferring technology, but has become a journey connecting knowledge and emotions, spreading confidence to create development momentum from the community's own internal strength. When Vietnam's agriculture is entering a period of comprehensive transformation to green economy , digital economy and deep integration, agricultural extension is identified as a pioneering force to realize the vision of "ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers" according to Resolution 19-NQ/TW.
