Evaluating the results of Project 8 implementation

On December 30th, the Women's Union of Dak Ha district (Kon Tum province) held a conference to evaluate the results of the implementation of Project 8 in 2024, under the National Target Program for socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, giai đoạn 2021 - 2030, Phase I: From 2021 - 2025 (National Target Program 1719).

Community communication teams in villages and hamlets have become well-organized and effective.

In 2024, with a total allocated budget of over 720 million VND for Project 8 on “Gender Equality and Addressing Urgent Issues for Women and Children” under the National Target Program 1719, the Dak Ha District Women's Union guided the Women's Unions of the communes to establish 5 new community communication teams, bringing the total number of community communication teams in the district to 40; established 36 trusted addresses, bringing the total to 46; and established and launched 4 "Leaders of Change" clubs, bringing the total to 6 clubs.

Implementing Project 8 of the National Target Program 1719, Dak Ha district has so far established 46 reliable addresses.

Simultaneously, the District Women's Union organized a thematic conference on gender equality, prevention and response to domestic violence and gender-based violence, with 130 participants; organized two training courses on operating and improving the capacity and skills of the Communication Team with 120 participants; and organized 14 communication campaigns on eliminating gender stereotypes and biases, and building a safe living environment for women and children in 9 communes with nearly 1,000 participants.

Community communication teams in the district organized 402 awareness sessions, with 28,759 participants; and held one competition on "communication initiatives on gender equality and prevention of domestic violence" with over 80 participants…

The Women's Union of Dak Ha district awarded Certificates of Commendation to 9 individuals for their outstanding achievements in coordinating and implementing Project 8.

Ms. Pham Thi Vien, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Dak Ha district, said: In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Women's Union of Dak Ha district proactively developed plans and related documents to implement the contents of Project 8, ensuring quality and effectiveness, achieving 100% of the planned targets, with some targets even exceeding expectations.

Through this, we will continue to contribute to raising awareness among members, women, and people in ethnic minority areas about changing gender stereotypes, eliminating outdated customs, and caring for the material and spiritual lives, as well as protecting and caring for the health of women and girls in ethnic minority areas.

On this occasion, the Women's Union of Dak Ha district awarded Certificates of Commendation to 5 collectives and 9 individuals for their outstanding achievements in coordinating and implementing Project 8.
