On February 5th, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province announced that it had issued a directive to Dak Ha district, requesting strict action against two households that had arbitrarily filled in and encroached upon the Ho Chi Minh Highway's right-of-way.
Previously, in November 2024, the Road Management Office III.4 (Road Zone III) discovered that two households in Dak Ha district (Kon Tum province) had arbitrarily dumped soil to level the ground, encroaching on the Ho Chi Minh Highway corridor section passing through this district.
The site shows illegal land leveling, encroaching on the infrastructure of the Ho Chi Minh Highway through Kon Tum province.
Specifically, Mr. Ha Trong Dong and Mr. Tran Bao Khanh, both residing in Dak La commune (Dak Ha district), committed acts of encroachment on road infrastructure. Mr. Dong arbitrarily hired machinery to dump soil and level the ground within the road safety corridor at Km 1536+20 on the left side of the road. Adjacent to this, Mr. Khanh also arbitrarily dumped soil and leveled the ground within the road safety corridor and constructed a culvert connecting to the horizontal drainage culvert of the Ho Chi Minh Highway at Km 1536+08 on the left side of the road.
According to the Road Management Office III.4, inspections revealed that these households had hired trucks and bulldozers to dump and level the ground within the road safety corridor, involving a considerable amount of soil and extending for tens of meters along the roadside.
After discovering the incident, the unit sent numerous documents to the People's Committee of Dak La commune and the People's Committee of Dak Ha district requesting guidance to prevent and handle the situation. However, the situation has not been promptly addressed, and the households have deliberately continued construction in violation of legal regulations on the management and protection of road infrastructure.
In response to this situation, the Road Management Area III has sent a document requesting the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee to direct the Dak Ha District People's Committee and relevant agencies to promptly handle the violations of the two households.
Immediately after receiving the above proposal, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province requested the People's Committee of Dak Ha district to take the lead and coordinate with relevant units to review, inspect, and definitively handle the violations and report to the Provincial People's Committee.
