Identity of the male lead 'Squid Game 2'

On June 15, Star News reported that actor Im Si Wan was cast as the lead in Squid Game 2.

Previously, in June 2022, director Hwang Dong Hyuk officially announced that Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun will appear in part 2 of Squid Game. In addition, Gong Yoo may participate in this part.

Im Si Wan, Lee Jung Jae, and Lee Byung Hun will appear in the drama as the main characters of part 2, opening a new story.

The total production cost of Squid Game 2 is estimated to be around 100 billion won or more. After casting is completed, the film will begin filming this summer. The target release date is 2024.

In response to the news that Im Si Wan will be joining the series, Netflix Korea said: "We cannot confirm any information about season 2 or the cast. It's hard for us to say anything in advance."
