Phu Yen Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection has just held the opening ceremony of an advanced training course for 11 TOT-IPM lecturers to TOT-IPHM, who are cadres, civil servants and public employees of the unit and the provincial Agricultural Extension Center.
Participating in the training course, lecturers were trained to improve and supplement their knowledge and principles of IPHM, ICM on integrated crop management, technical measures of IPHM and technical advances related to integrated pest management such as SRI (system of improved rice cultivation), 3 reductions 3 increases, 1 must 5 reductions; clarify the concept of "one health", plant health; update knowledge on biological control measures, healthy varieties (quality varieties, growing healthy plants), soil health and plant nutrition, ecological agriculture (agricultural ecology and environmental protection); biological pesticides, growing and exporting area codes, digital transformation of agriculture, greenhouse gas emission reduction cultivation and climate change response... to help farmers apply them in production practices.
The purpose of this training course is to supplement knowledge on plant health management so that lecturers are qualified to become TOT-IPHM lecturers, to create a source of IPHM lecturers to train and organize farmer training classes on integrated plant health management in localities.
